I was 18 and off the rails, I worked in a local pub serving drunks and teenagers all day. I hated it but it was the only way to make money. I was in a dead end relationship that was going nowhere.
The pub wanted new staff and I wanted a Friday night off so in return for a night off I found them a new member of staff. My best friend.
I was meant to be meeting my b/f that night but again he managed to get himself banged up for the night! So I decided id go have a drink with a friend.
I went to sit down and there across the table from me sat a guy id been eyeing up for weeks. He was my height and had the biggest bluest eyes you have ever seen. I didnt say anything to him just smiled and sat down. My friend had brought her date with her, a good friend of my bosses, and there was the local cling on martin swell.
Not long after we decided to move on to another pub down the road. I was talking to my friend while the 3 lads were walking up front.
We all got settled in the noisy pub, I could see the eyes of the stranger staring at me. We was talking about clubbing and dancing and I said how I could go all night on the dance floor. All of a sudden he spoke and said,
is there anything else you can go all night at and winked at me. He introduced himself. Jay* was my hansom stranger.
I was speechless I didnt no what to say bit it was funny and in a weird way it was like a ice breaker.
After few drinks we decided to go to a few more pubs. He spent the whole night trying to take my photo on his phone before we went back to the pub we started at.
It was late so there wasnt many people in the pub. Turned out my boss was Jays* brother so we had him watching us for the rest of the night while he was trying to work.
I had a bad leg that night so Jay* decided hed try massage it better for me under the table. Everyone was making a joke about what we was doing under the table.
For the rest of the night we just chatted about random things before I knew it I was the only girl left in the pub surrounded by 8 blokes.
Soon the night was over and was time to go home. Jay* lived on the opposite side of town to me so we had to walk separate ways. We just stared at each other and said goodbye. No kiss nothing. I didnt even get his number.
All the way home I kicked everything in sight, I was so angry I didnt get his number. Even the police stopped and asked me to stop kicking public property. Of course he was laughing when he said it.
The next day I woke up to the sound of my mum banging on my door to wake me up. I told her how id made a massive mistake and didnt get a guys number I really liked. Her response was o well couldnt be that important.
I spent the whole Saturday running round my town trying to find someone with his number. Finally after 6 hours of searching I found his friend to get his number. I was very cautious about texting him. But I got up the courage to text him. But I didnt get anything back.
That night I was watching something stupid on TV when all of a sudden my phone started to vibrate. It was him. Jay* had texted me back. Hed been trying to get my number all day as he was away for two weeks now with the TA.
We spent the whole night texting. We was getting to no each other, and after a few days on march 6th 2006 he asked me to be his girlfriend.
Finally the two week flew by and he came back. I was working that night and he said hed be in to see me.

I was clearing glasses when I seen him walk in the door. I was so shy and nervous but I went over and hugged him. He was meeting his friends in there from TA. So I went back to work as I had 4 hours left on my shift.
When I had my break I went to sit with them all. I was still very shy and nervous but when my break was up they decided to go to a different pub down the road.
I was going to meet them there after id done my shift. So I gave him a quick peck then ran back to the bar.
Soon 11pm came and was time for me to get off shift. I ran upstairs to get changed and take my hair down. I walked down to the pub and as I walked in I realised nobody recognised me and Jay* wasnt with his friends.
I found his just round the corner at the bar. He grabbed me and gave me a big kiss. I just melted and went to jelly in his arms.
Jay* was coming home with me that night so we could spend sum more time together. thats how it all started because for the next 3 weeks we were inseparable we spent every waking hour together. Id fallen head over heals in love with this guy.
Unforchantly we would be put to the test. Jay* had signed on to the army and in april 2006 he was leaving for basic training.
Nobody believed wed last his training. The dreaded day came I was sat on the platform saying goodbye to a guy id known 5 weeks but loved more than anything.
I wouldnt see him for a month. It was going to be hard but we wrote to each other and rang each other every single day. I missed him so much, it was so hard.
Finally his family and I got a invite to go watch the lads in tarining and bring jay* home for the night.
It was an early start but worth while. It took 2 hours to get up to his base. When we got there I was constantly looking around for jay*. We went in to watch some shotting simulations the lads were doing when all of a sudden from under a helmet I saw the big blue eyes I fell in love with. I was so proud watching him do his shooting.
After hed finished he took us to look at his room hed been living in. I hugged him and didnt want to let go. It was time for us to all go home. I just fell asleep in jays* arms on the way home.

We had been talking about being together forever, for the last few weeks. I brought a ring in my size and gave it to jay* to keep. He desided he was going to ask me to marry him there and then.
Of course I said yes and we rushed round to tell everyone. Id never been so happy in my life.
The next day jay* had to go back to camp though. It was a long drive back up to camp and I felt so sick all the way up there. When we got there I cryed for about half an hour. I was so love sick I didnt want to leave him there it was a horrid place.
Thankfully for the rest of his training hed be allowed to come home every weekend, so we made the most of it going places and spending every hour together. We spent time planning wedding.
It was hard only spending weekends together but every minuite was worth it.

Before we knew it hed finished his 6 months of tarining. We was all invited to jays* pass out parade. It was an amazing thing to watch. I was so proud me and his mum cried.
Finally I could take him home and hve him to myself for a while. We spent those weeks planning last moment wedding plans.
In October 2006 jay* had to leave to join his battalion. I knew hed be able to come home on weekends though.
When November came it was a month that was going to change my life forever. Jay* had been away for 2 weeks with no break and he finally came home mid November for my birthday. Just one night he was home for. November 11th. He made my birthday special for me.

on jan 6th 2007 we finally got married.. and wevebeen happily married eversince.
