| Thread started by: | "No sex drive at 18!" Posted by perfectlyclear 14 July at 22:16
I have always enjoyed and possibly slightly over active sex drive but just lately its gone....completly. I have been with my boyfriend for just over a year and I can't even remember the last time we had sex. He is being very good about it but I hate it! My mind is screaming 'Yes, yes, Sex, Sex!' but my body is just not getting the idea. I am on the pill, but I have been since I was about 14/15. Could it be that anyway? I also seem to remember just before I lost my sex drive completly only lasting until one orgasm and then that was it my body just said no, so after I ha came once we had to use lube, which is kind of hard to explain to some that has only been with you and is very insercure about himself thats its not him and your not actually turned off but if you carry on without lube then its going to hurt me...Oh I don't know what to do. Please Help

The Pill is perhaps the most powerful libido killer around, second only to wedding cake (sorry couldn't resist using the old Jewish joke).
In a recent study ( I would post the link but can't find it at the moment) the Pill was shown to reduce a woman's sensitivity to the testosterone her body naturally produces. Reduced sensitivity to testosterone means decreased interest and enjoyment of sex. Also vaginal dryness is a common side effect of the Pill. Think about it---if your body (not your mind) is not interested in sex, why would it produce any lubrication?
The research also found that the reduced sensitivity may per permanent. Even after use of the Pill was stopped the women in the study still showed reduced sensitivity to testesterone.
The good news is their sensitivity to testosterone did increase, along with their sex drive I imagine, when they stopped using the Pill but was not as high as women who had never used the Pill.
The study raises serious concerns about the effect of the Pill on the long term sexual health of women and especially the use of the pill by young women.
This study could explain why so many women who should be in their sexual prime years and enjoying the best sex of their lives are instead experienceing Female Sexual Dysfuntion, FSD or as you plainly put it "no sex drive".
Listen to your body. From your message I can tell you suspect the Pill is a big part of the problem. When you were 14/15 you probably had such high levels of hormones the libido killing effects of the Pill were not noticed. Now that your body is settling down the Libido Killing effects of the pill are showing through.
If you want to save your libido get off the Pill ASAP. Also make sure you are taking 15mg of zinc every day. This can help with the testosterone. Most good multivitamins will have 15mg of zinc.
If you would like more ways to restore your libido and get your orgasms back send me a PM. I would post the link here but the forum moderators don't like links to products posted.
