After being blonde for years, About 5 months ago I decided to visit a hairdressers and had my hair coloured dark brown( permanent) Well I am paying £45 every 5 weeks to have it recoloured and its seems a lot of money to pay so often, Has anyone got any advice about buying hair dye from Boots etc and will it give me good results. Thanks

I agree that you're paying way too much to keep your colour.

Using a box colour is fine, if you know what you're doing.
I recomend Herbal Essenses hair Dyes, they don't contain any of the crap alot of dyes do and if you pick a colour that is more or less the same as your current colour then the results should be fine - although at first I suggest just doing your roots. Go over your roots with a box dye whenever you need to (normaly every 4 weeks or so) and if you notice the colour at the ends of your hair fading, go over your whole head with the dye. You might need to buy two boxes of dye for this if your hair goes past your shoulders or you have thick hair. Don't dye the whole of your head every time, though. You might end up with damaged hair.

Hope this helps.
