Hi h,
I use my ghd's every day and my hair smells ok! Mostly it just smells like whatever product I'm using at the time, at the mo it's a vo5 de-frizz spray but I quite like wella's falt iron spray too.
"Thanks"

thanks for replying, I have spent loads on protecting spritzes etc. I will give your 2 a try then if that doesn't work I'll go back to my cheap £20 from superdrug ones..blimmin expensive ghds they were.I hope it works thanks again

i have the same problem! i though it was just me and it really embarasses me because i can smell my hair quite strongly and i think it picks up alot of smells as well like cooking smells but i think it definitely has something to do with ghd!
"I wonder why we get this?"
Posted by mumzie 28 January  at  00:17

Oh I thought I was the only one...thank you! And yes my hair picks up smells really easily too.if I cook onions, or go swimming, or into a smokey pub. Its only been really bad with the ghds so I think I'm going to give them up. My husband says he doesn't smell it ...but I do.I guess our hair doesn't suit the heat? shame isn ... oh well £80 down the drain dammit.
maybe i'll sell them on e-bay seems such a waste otherwise.

onions are the worst smells in my hair and thats why i avoid the kitchen at all costs when somethings being cooked.there is a distinctive smell from when i have washed my hair and straighten it-its not pleasant at all.i used my cousins ghd once and there was no smell with her ghd so i think it could actually be my straightener as well because its 3 years old now
"Do you use head and shoulders shaz"
Posted by mumzie 28 January  at  18:20

I've just tried a different conditioner...no smell..I wonder if its head and shoulders?? do you use it?

i used to use head and shoulders shampoo and conditioner mumzie but i have switched to herbal essences but i dont think its the shampoo but the actual straightener even though my sister doesnt have no problem with it(she has fine silky hair) and my hair is very bushy and thick and it has been 3 years of continous straightening so maybe my hair is weakening?

my ghd's are 3 years old so i have no warranty on them so i cant return them! but i think its more of my hair because it picks up every smell i go past-cigarettes are the worst.i had a haircut in tony and guy and it cost me £12 for a little bottle of hair spritz which did make my hair smell nice but products make my hair greasy and smelly as well! oh well we'l see how the babyliss ones work out for u then
"Are we sisters?"
Posted by mumzie 3 February  at  11:26

That is SO wierd me too I paid £19 (ulp) for some lavender scented gloop, and it worked (vith my old straightners) but now I look like Olive from On the busses! Smoking smells..yep I even pass on a pub lunch cos my hair reeks all afternoon and I don't even sit near smokers.
I think I might go bac to having a permed curly crash-helmet again , so much less trouble!)

"Long lost sisters"
Posted by shaz0 3 February  at  12:29

my sister suggested i wash my hair with more shampoo and conditioner when i shower and not a pea sized amount! well this is probably the effects of straightening because it does say it damages your hair.im just going to keep on covering up the smells with perfumes! i dont use any products on my hair because of the greasyness so the least i can do is put perfume on it!
