I had two weeks annual leave which started the day before my ba. I'm worried cos they're going to think I just don't want to go back to work after my annual leave!

I did wear padded bras before so I'm not concerned about anybody noticing. I don't think they will to be honest.

I'll see what the nurse says tomorrow and if she recommends more time off, I'll go see my GP tomorrow afternoon. He already knows about my ba because Transform sent him a letter.

Thanks hun,

Louise x

and I'm due back on Monday. I'll be 13 days post-op and my job is quite physical.

If I get a doctor's note for another week will he have to state on it that I've had a breast augmentation??

I really don't want it becoming public knowledge. I work for Royal Mail and it's a male dominated workforce. Plus, my boss has a gob like the Mersey tunnel and I wouldn't trust him not to tell anybody...

Can I sign myself off??

Help, don't know what to do for the best...

Thanks,

Louise xx

"Self cert for 7 days"

I believe you can self certify for up to 1 week, so guess it depends whether you have taken the time off so far as sick or holiday. If it was hols you can certify yourself for a few days, you don't have to say what. Maybe you could say you've had surgery, but not give details - people always assume gynae if you are vague!!!!! (mind you is that any better than BA - LOL!)

Ask for more time off, im only a company administrator so didnt have to lift anything other than files and the telephone and returned 4 days post op.

get a note hun, as far as i am aware the doctor will not disclose about your augmentation if it goes against your wishes due to patient confidentiality, just let the doctor know, ok they aren't allowed to blatantly lie but she could say that your muscles are very tight or that you've a trapped nerve, muscle tension or unexplained backache? find a sympathetic one, i find the men are better than the women.

If you ordinarily wore padded bras before, it wont be extremely evident, plus the shirts are thick and not fitted so that will help disguise them

you can sign your self off too, do a self certification but i dont know if thats only for a few days or if it will cover another week, the bags are bloody heavy lol i really would try your doc or see how long you can self certify for, good luck hun!

LOL they wont think that, or if they do, nows the perfect time to get a pay raise hehe!

Good luck with the nurse today hun, either way the nurse or doctor can give you a note to give to your employer, anyway loads of people get ill after holidays so it would be believable.

Take care and i'll keep my fingers crossed you get another week off

"Note"

When i went into THG they can get you a doctors note and sign you off and in their contracts / paperwork they are not allowed to talk to your work about what has been done etc and can sign you off so go back to where you had it done and see if you can get one that way

I've got my 10 day post-op appointment tomorrow so I'll have a chat with the nurse and see if she can give me one.

Hi love, like you I was in a very phsical heavy lifting job, after my b/a i still had 3 weeks off work, the week i was due back i had to see my dr about something else and the coversation turned to my b/a and he signed me off for another week, and NO he did not put down that i had had the op, i asked him not to, he thought it too early to return as it involved so much lifting, i was meant to get signed off again but unlucky me got laid off anyway as it was agency work, nay mind now i can recover fully lol. do not rush back it just is not worth it. good luck
