My pre Op leaflet said nothing to eat after 6am, I had to be at the hosp for 12pm.
I got up at 5 with the hopes of a nice big breakfast as I do love my food but could only manage a banana and a cuppa!

I'm having my BA/UL in January and I was told "for six hours before the operation, do not drink, eat or smoke".

it's the night before ................ I went down for my surgery at 1.30pm ..... I had nothing to eat from the night before ..... but I'm sure you are ok to sip water if need be ........ Ring the hospital to make sure ..... they'll probably send you an info leaflet to explain all that in full for you before you attend the hospital .... good luck for the 16th hun xx

for six hours before, definately no sips of water ,no smoking on the day,as this makes the stomach release acid, which in turn will make you feel really sick on waking.Good luck
