GRRRRR wish i'd asked that never ate anything after supper at 6pm night before, told me wen i got there 11am that it only needed to be 6 hours before, left home at 6.15am to sit thru husbands rig meeting before heading off on the 3 and half hour car journey there, Surgery was delayed till 3pm and when surgeon was drawing on me at about 2.15pm my stomach wouldn't stop growling... even my husband was blushing with embarassment. Woke up from op thowing up non stop... nightmare when nothing to throw up but stomach acid, once that was under control i was Starving got tea and toast around 11pm!

My pre Op leaflet said nothing to eat after 6am, I had to be at the hosp for 12pm. I got up at 5 with the hopes of a nice big breakfast as I do love my food but could only manage a banana and a cuppa! K x

I'm having my BA/UL in January and I was told "for six hours before the operation, do not drink, eat or smoke".

it's the night before ................ I went down for my surgery at 1.30pm ..... I had nothing to eat from the night before ..... but I'm sure you are ok to sip water if need be ........ Ring the hospital to make sure ..... they'll probably send you an info leaflet to explain all that in full for you before you attend the hospital .... good luck for the 16th hun xx

for six hours before, definately no sips of water ,no smoking on the day,as this makes the stomach release acid, which in turn will make you feel really sick on waking.Good luck
