I am booked for a correction at wellness kliniek and realy scared after reading these posts

I am booked for a correction at the wellness Kliniek and am very apprehensive to go after reading how some of you have been treated for correction surgery.
I had my BA with Dr Hoeyburghs in September 2008 and I was wandering is this during the time that he was struck off? I was told by the clinic to wait 9 months to one year for the final results of ba and now it is 11 months so I sent pics and they emailed me back saying that I might need surgery to lower the fold of the breast as thier is no fullness in the lower part of my breasts. I had 490 cc implants and they look tiny on me. I am wandering if they actualley are 490cc implants at all.
I had no problems with my surgery at wellness and I found Dr hoeyburghs quite pleasant although the consultation was quite quick. But I am not happy with the final result and I am scheduled a correction consultaion with DR Visser in October and possibal surgary three days later.
I am worried after reading all the stories on this forum , actually i am sh**ing myself.
I am thinking I will ask just to go for the consultation and then wait a while for the surgery to give myself time to think about what the doc says she can do. If anything I could do it in a day trip and then look round Brussels in the afternoon.(not much to do in genk).
Has anyone experianced DR Visser for Ba correction? What are your opions of her? Also can you point me to any online referances where it says Dr Houeyburghs was struck off and to why?
I was under the impression that Docter Houeyburghs was the director of the clinic so it doesnt make sense that the director would be struck off and not the whole clinic.
I went to Wellness Kliniek as a friend of mine had a tummy tuck and lipo there and recomended it and also as it was the chaepest. Wish I would have shopped around.

Wellness kliniek genk belgium, my experience.

Hi, i am not a regular here, im normally on another forum, but after posting my experience on the other forum, i was urged to post it on here, so others are warned. i dont mean for my story to be the only one you use to make your decision, but i would like it to be something you bear in mind.

its a bit long, so i am having to post it on two threads!

Hiya girls!

I have been using this forum for a while now, but I feel compelled to write something on here about my experience at the Wellness Kliniek. I have tried to be as honest as possible with regards to my initial op and my corrections.

I had my breast augmentation done on 25th march 2008. I went with my husband and we stayed in Genk all together 5 days (4 days after op) I was a 32a and I had 320cc round implants with Dr Geordin and they were partials (under the muscle at the top and over at the bottom) they implants were put in through the nipple.

Dr Geordin was lovely, he was very persuasive about what was best for me- for example I wanted tear drop but he thought round, I wanted under muscle, he thought partials are best etc. I did not really get a say in what I wanted, but everything I said he wanted he said he didnt do, and he seemed so confident I trusted his judgment. I brought in pictures of different girls boobs mainly from page 3 showing what I want, what I didnt want etc, and he said that mine would look even better. I was thrilled.

The staff were lovely, English was good enough. It was clean, but there were a few things I noticed, that you would not expect to see at a UK hospital but other than that everything was fine.

Around June time I noticed that my implants had settled down, but the nipples were way too high on the breast and they were an oval shape. There was also a dip just under the nipples on both breasts. I sent my pictures off to Dr Geordin who agreed to do a pocket revision surgery. This was booked for 8-9 September 2008 and my husband came with me. When I went into the consultation room, I was told that nothing was wrong, and I should be very happy with the results and they are just what I should expect. I insisted that I cannot get my nipples in any bras except sports bras, and they are an oval shape and I was unable to wear any nice bikinis (except speedo ones) on my honeymoon (we got married in may 2008) and that something is wrong. After arguing he agreed to open them up and take a look. My surgery was booked for the next day.

Before I was put to sleep I cried because this time I had nurses that were just treating me like a piece of meat, they were not speaking to me at all, grabbing my arm, putting my canula in, four different nurses came and just pulled down my gown had a look at them and put the gown back again without saying a word. It was just frightening; maybe I was being too sensitive though. When I came round, I noticed he had only opened up the right breast (around the nipple where the original implant had gone in through) and nothing was done, no corrections etc.

We went home later that day and I booked a consultation with a surgeon here in the UK. When we had the consultation, he confirmed that my breasts had bottomed out as the pockets were too big for the implants (the implants had fallen out) and I should have had unders as my breast tissue was so slight there is no way I could have supported 320cc over the muscle. He offered to operate on me for approximately 5500 pounds but said I would have to wait a year after my initial surgery as surgeons in the UK generally do not take on other peoples work until at least a year after the surgery, so I had no choice but to go back to the Wellness Kliniek.

I called up the clinic again and rebooked a consultation and surgery with Dr Heoyberghs (I requested a different surgeon). This was booked for about a week ago. During our consultation he was reluctant to do any corrective surgery. When I told him about the surgeon in the UK who said it could be corrected, he said the only way he could correct it is by making an incision under the breast but this would mean I was left with a large scar but thats the only way. I agreed to it if thats the only way then asked would he be able to hide it in the crease and he said maybe. I had other questions like will you put it under/ over the muscle, will I be able to have smaller implant size (I was told that because I had so little breast tissue, they are less likely to bottom out if I had smaller implants) and will you be able to put in a band to support them. Unfortunately as soon as I agreed to have the op he opened the door walked out, I was not really sure where he went, it did not feel like the consultation was over, so I picked up my coat and bag and went out of the room, and saw he had given my file to the receptionist and he had just disappeared. The receptionist started booking my next day surgery for me, seeing what time they had available etc, and then I saw him come out of the office of one of the other surgeons- so yeah, that was my consultation.

I then went back to my hotel and thought no I really need to say those things on my mind, so I rang them up and asked if I could speak to Dr Heoyberghs or if he could give me a call back. They said you can speak to him in the operating theatre before your operation, but you cannot speak to him today.

I knew from my first op with Dr Geordin, that i didnt get to see him at all that time in the operating theatre, but luckily the nurse agreed to not sedate me until I saw him, he came in to the operating theatre. When he came in I said "oh Dr Hoeybergh, will be implants be put over or under the muscle?", and he said "what we discussed yesterday." and i said " but I dont recall you saying to me yesterday whether it will be over or under the muscle..." then he came about two inches away from my face, and shouted, i mean shouted "I AM NOT A ... ALRIGHT" and started the sedation. i burst out crying straight away, so i dont know if they are over or under.

I have now come back, and I do not have a clue what was actually done.

Ugly face of beauty: dr hoeyberghs

The Wellness Kliniek was on Ugly Face of Beauty this Tuesday. Watch it again here for a truly shocking interview with Dr Hoeyberghs:

This is horrifying stuff. I really hope this can be sorted out legally for you somehow. Nanette, it seems was just one of many women who were butchered.

P.s

If you watch it on 4 on demand then click to the final third of the timeline for Nanette's story and confrontation with this revolting human being.

Wellness and nipple pain

Just a quick question i thought Id ask as a few of you on this thread have had BA at wellness. Do any of you still get pain in your nipples around the scar one year afer surgery? I am not sure if this is normal.
Also if the worst comes to the worst I was thinking about going to my gp here in London. Has anybody been to their gp in uk after being to Wellness and were they happy to help. I was thinking i would like a mamogram to find out if the pain is normal, they also hurt when I lie down and they fall into my arm pits which is painfull. ar GP's wiling to help with probs like this or do they see it as a burden to the nhs.

I was thinking too

I have seen pic tures in mags that have been blurred.... defo look into other mags.... there will be one...there has to be one.... also there is a magazine that is doing a spread on breast implants... I will find out and let you know...

Mmmm maybe they will be interested... they wer offering a payout too.

I will be back asap with that info.

Wellness kliniek

Hi Libs, i too have had BA at this clinic and have had to go back for a correction, i was wondering if you have been back yourself yet? and if so if you wouldn't mind saying what the problem was.... I know its very personal so if you would rather not say then thats fine.... i'm new to this forum as i am looking for advice from others who have had dificulties themself. If you can help and prefer to email me rather than have details on a forum then my email address is skankybird@hotmail.co.uk

Google translater very handy indeed.

hiya thanks for replying. i couldn't get the link you posted working but I looked on google translater for articles of the same source. Google translater is very handy indeed and i never knew about it before so thanks for the tip.
So from what I read is this correct....DR Hoeyberghs was the subject of an investigation by an undercover reporter who questioned him about having two diiferent sized implants placed and another patient bled on the way home and was tod to take pain killers? Since the program aired he brought the surgeory profession into disrepute and was thus suspended from practicing in Belgium till the end of the year? Is that right?
I cant seem to find any articles as to why Dr Goerdin was suspended though.
I had a look at the Wellness Kliniek website today again and it seems that Docter Visser is now the main surgeon there speciallising in ba.
i have rebooked my consultation and correction op a month apart from each other to give me time to think about waht she says and also get second opinions here in uk.
It is very alarming that my surgeon is struck off. I do hope that she can fix it.

Another link.

Yes, that's pretty much the story on Hoeyberghs. Here is a link to the story on Dr Goerdin who, whilst also working at the Wellness, had another clinic going at the same time.

http://www.rnw.nl/zh-hans/node/10305

If you go over to the MakeMeHeal.com site and search under Doctor's, and put in Hoeyberghs name and country, you will see 7 complaints against him as well as the ones on this SoFemineSite.

Thats pretty seriuos stuff

Jeepers gbh charges are pretty serious stuff. Thanks for posting......please please please if anyone has any info on Docter Visser and what the Wellness Kliniek is like today under her charge can you either post it or pm it to me.
I have a very big decision to make.....whether to have corrective surgery at wellness or get a second job and save for a year and get my implants changed elsewhere. I would have thought that there would be strict rules implimented now and that they would want to do their best to rectify there mistskes and save their pr profile........but then i thought that i would have perfect breasts.

Corrective surgery

Hi there libby, if you do get any info on Dr Visser would you pass it on to me too. I have to make an appointment tosee her as i have had BA in May last year, had to go back last december as both sides dropped. was put back free of charge tho it did cost me to go out and hotel ect.... then in May this year the left side dropped again, just by closing the boot of my car ....they say you can carry on with all sport, i dont feel it would be safe to do that...i think they are going to recommend this time i have an uplift, but not sure thats what i want. Have you had any advise from a breast specialist over here? You didnt say in your post what your corrective surgery is exactly... hope you dont mind me asking, obviously you dont have to say...

2nd suspension

This doctor has been suspended until the end of the year and it is his second suspension. This is a translated article about what has been going on. Despite being the director of the clinic, he was suspended nevertheless. Also, another doctor from the Wellness Dr. Goerdin, has also been kicked out.

Here is the link:

I have heard reports that Dr. Visser is OK. Perhaps someone else may answer your post about this.

Horrified

Oh my goodness...I feel nauseous just reading your story....i'm so sorry for what you have gone through....wasn't even aware it could be done just under sedation. I just hope people get to hear this story and remember it when they are deciding where to go for op and saving money.

Best of luck for the future...I hope you can get it sorted. Many of the surgeons at spire and BMI are also breast reconstruction specialists for the NHS and so would be more than able to give you what you have waited for for so long!!! xxx

My experience with dr hoeyberghs

Hi Everyone

I went to see Dr. Hoeyberghs on the 24/11/08 for a consultation in Genk about a belly tuck and some liposuction on the sides. The consultation took only 10 minutes. He said everything was fine and the operation could take place the next morning. I then gave him Euro 5,424:00.

The next day I was given an anaesthetic by the nurse and I went to sleep. During the operation I woke up. I tried to sit up and tell them that I could feel everything and that I was in agony, but he told me to lay back down, he growled " Lie down, lie down". The nurse tried to reassure me by saying that everything will be OK but I kept screaming and remained awake for the rest of the operation it seemed to go on forever. The pain was very severe.
My sister was also waiting to go for an operation and she could hear me screaming for help. She aksed where I was but the nurse put her hand over my sister's mouth to keep her quiet. I was very traumatised and could not stop crying.

After the treatment a nurse put me into another room over night I was all alone. I was given nothing to help me with the pain. All that I had for the night was some cold green soup which I could not eat, and was told to drink a glass of coke to give me energy. I had no idea where my sister was although she did ask about me, and she was told by the nurse that I would be OK.

The next morning I just had to leave the clinic, but before I did Dr. Hoeyberghs came to see me. He examined me and told me that my stomach was black and that I will need a second operation to remove the black skin. He said not to worry as I would not be charged for the second operation. The operation was scheduled for the following Saturday morning, of course I was petrified at this stage and did not know what to do or where to turn. Before I left the nurse gave me some bandages and she said to put the bandages on with tape and change them every day. I was given a corsette supposedly to keep everything together. I paid Euro 105:50 for this which included the bandages. I was given a prescription for vitamins which cost a further Euro 40:00.

My sister and I went back to the hotel, but we had problems as there was no shower and we could not physically get into the bath because of the wounds from the operation. It was impossible to keep the dressings in line, neither my sister nor I could put the corsettes on, so they were useless.

From the hotel I had to telephone a taxi driver to collect some pain killers for me as I was given nothing after the operation apart from what I mentioned above.

On Thursday my sister and I went by taxi back to the clinic as we needed help with our bandages. The nurse told us to come down everyday and she would do our bandages for us, which we did.

On Saturday my sister came back to the clinic with me as I was to have the second operation. I did not see Dr Hoeyberghs until I was already in theatre. His first words to me when he came in was "Are you always as tense as this?" I said I was in a lot of pain and that I was very afraid, he just grinned at me.

Next, the nurse, who wasn't wearing any gloves even during the first operation, tried to give an anaesthetic in my right arm but she could not do it there so went for my left arm. I went to sleep.
I woke up again during this operation in agony, I was screaming, and he screamed at me three times to "Shut up" and the nurse told me to stay quiet but I told her I'm in a lot of pain, again he screamed at me to "Shut up" .

I have no idea how long this procedure took, but my sister said it could have easily been two hours. After this I was taken back down to a room where my sister was waiting for me. I could not stop crying. My sister asked me what had happened, I explained as best I could. My sister asked the nurse why the Dr had told me to shut up and the nurse said that he was speaking to his staff!

After this I never saw the Dr again, although I should have stayed overnight the nurse told me I had to leave as the clinic would not be open at the weekend.

I had bring my daughter over from Ireland for four days, as we could not move anywhere. We could not even get out to get food for ourselves and we were in no condition to travel back to Ireland at this stage. We went back to the clinic on December 1st to get the drains from our stomachs removed. I was afraid that the Dr was going to do this, but a nurse did it instead. We never saw him again.

We were so traumatised that we had to change our travel arrangements from the 8th to the 2nd of December.

Once home I went to my local GP because there was now a gaping hole in my stomach from where the drain had been. He sent me to the nurse and she was shocked at the condition I had been left in.

It took months for the injury to heal.
