Question: how many post op ladies......

......find going back to underwire bras uncomfortable after wearing sports bras for 6 weeks??

I have tried on a few bras in preparation for shopping next week (who doesn't lol) but have found that the underwire sitting on my ribcage under my boobs is quite uncomfortable.

Is this normal after wearing sports bras for so long?

does this go away?

any advice on how to tackle this please?

thanks

Underwired bras...

Hi Dani!

I was told not to wear underwired bras for 6 months post op by my clinic!! I'm just going for non-wired bras once I'm out of my sports bras, as the wire could still rub on the newly healed skin. But then if other girls are saying it's fine, then go with that?
Enjoy the undies shopping! I can't wait til I do mine! X

Hi

I had exactly the same thing when going back to "normal" bras. I found it really uncomfortable to begain with and annoying too. But after a short time you get used to it (not the pain) that goes away, just wearing a bra again. You soon forget about your old boobs and get on with living your life with the new ones and enjoying every minute of it!!

It will be a little bit uncomfortable to begin with ... but give it time.

There have been lots of changes to your boobies since you last wore an underwired bra ... so just be patient .... give it time.

Start off by wearing the underwired bra for just a couple of hours a day ... and gradually build it up to a full days worth ... this way will make it easier for you ... and before you know it, you'll be wearing your underwires all the time without a second thought x
