"Please look at the date of posts you're replying to.." Posted by sophes82 27 March at 16:59
I posted the original message in September 07. SIX MONTHS ago! I had my BA in January with Mr. Traynor at Abbey Pines, 525cc overs.
Many thanks for all the comments though. All sorted now.

Hi
Although you could obviously have an operation if your health/life depended on it but when it is an elective operation the surgeons/anaesthetists do like you to be below a certain bmi. I have a friend who has recently had cosmetic surgery and had to wait a while for it until she managed to get her bmi down.
Good luck

i think harley always ask for your stats before consultation because it wouldn't be fair to get you in to tell you that you cant have the op when they could have told you this already over the phone. That's why i was really suprised that non of the other places did this but thats another matter altogether.
You don't want to risk your health for this op, that is one thing..are you happy at the moment with the weight you are? Becuase if so, then you just need to think how much you want some new boobies..if you do want to lose weight then like some of the other posts on here have mentioned it is better to do it before op as weight loss/gain can affect results. Even if you dont want to, i cant imagine you would have to lose that much before being correct weight as you are very tall, so why not book a consultation for a couple of months away and use it as an incentive. all the ladies will be here to support you!

"Too big for ba" Posted by dashiki6 24 September at 16:36
Hi Sophes,
The reason for this is because all major operations carry a risk of complications which are obviously increased if you are overweight. The general aneasthetic too is a risk in itself, so don't be suprised if you find it difficult finding somewhere to give you the op at your current weight.
Have you ever seen Extreme Makeover? The surgeons on that program say they will only agree to the operation/s once the (overweight) people have lost enough weight for it to be safe. These are supposedly some of the best surgeons in the world, so if you were going to believe anyone, it would be them right?
To be honest, I would be very cautious if any surgeon agreed to do the op on you at your current weight, as it would not seem very safe.
For your own peace of mind, and health, why not use this as an extra incentive to lose weight and get healthier? Not only will you feel a lot better generally, but you will enjoy showing off your new additions even more
Good luck x x

"Capio - euxton, chorley." Posted by janitee 23 September at 17:11
Hi,
The only thing I could suggest is to try ringing around a few different clinics and try to get some consultations booked. Or possibly try going to your GP for advice/referrals?
I just wanted to say that I live in Euxton and the hospital is lovely. My friend had BA with Capio at the Euxton hospital and she is more than happy with the care she got and over the moon with the results. Hope that helps.
Good Luck, Jan. X

I think they are concerned about weight for all types of surgery not just cosmetic. It puts you at larger risk of going through an operation.
You are very tall at 5ft 11ins. They are probably just looking out for your health.

Use those new boobs as an incentive! I joined slimming world and found it great and had my new boobs to look forward to as a reward. I'll never be a skinny minnny but feel alot healthier and more balanced since having my ba. I'd recommend at least 400 overs due to your frame, maybe 450 as a D cup isn't big at all - you'll be surprised!
All the best

hi having surgery whilst being overweight is a risk. i dont think there is any point going to see different surgeons cos really they should not be doing breast surgery if you are overweight, they only do surgery if it is something that is affecting your health. if you go see your gp im sure he will put you in contact with a lot of people that will help you lose some weight before surgery. good luck.

The reception or whoever it was at Harley St told me I was too skinny, but I had no problems with anywhere else and she was very rude to boot!!!!
