Hi there, I have lipo booked with Elyzea in Brussels Dec 20th this year with Dr Torrekens. I'd love to hear from anyone who has had surgery with him or lipo at Elyzea. If you have any suggestions of where to stay, best way to get to the clinic. Any advice for surgery, minimising bruising. What can I expect re when I would be back on my feet. How bad is the brusing, how much pain etc...
I am having my entire abdomen, waist and hips done and also a tiny amount under my chin. If anyone has had their chin done aswell, I'd be grateful to hear from you. What kind of brusing to expect etc.. There are some people I don't want to know, so the chin lipo - will be be noticeable after a few days (bruising I mean).
Is there anyone going around the same time? Basically - any advice, tips or stories (good or bad), greatly appreciated!! Melody..x

I'm having exactly the same procedure in the same areas next week and I'm a bit worried. Have you noticed that on their french/dutch site the price is cheaper by about £500 for the same surgeons and clinic? I've also been quoted £2320 for my op at my consultation last month but when I phoned to book it they told me it would definitely be £2800. This from a receptionist that has never even met me (so much for 'price depends on quantity of fat - I'm hardly rosanne barr!. I've phoned brussels to ask but the receptionist LAUGHED at me - so I emailed the UK and I've had no response from any of my emails so I don't even know how much to take!
I have also read on another forum that you are left lying on a table naked whilst people walk in and out randomly - I hope to god this isnt true.
I've had surgery go wrong before (breast uplift + implant at Transform) - I don't mean to worry you but I'm concerned about their professionalism. I'm so scarred now anyway, another bodge job won't make much difference to me, but I will let you know how it goes...would rather u waste £300 deposit than end up like me now, never mind later!

Hi Kitti, hope you don't mind, just read your reply to the lipo at Elyzea and feel bad for you. I can't be of any help with regards lipo but I had BA at Elyzea 2 weeks ago and was terrified. So terrified I burst into tears during consultation, during anaesthetic. It was all fine though and I really did find the place to be amazing. Am considering lipo there in the new year. I hope that this can reassure you a little about Elyzea. As for the price, that's ridiculous! You will pay what you were quoted at the consultation, they will have record of it and at the end of the day the surgeon who's donw the assessment knows better than the receptionist who hasn't met you so don't be worried.
Good luck, I think after what you've been through you deserve for things to go well and I really hope that it does. Take care and please keep us posted with your op and recovery. Pops xxx

hi melody i had lipo - 3 areas on legs, in october with Dr Marque at Elyzea. to answer some of your questions - pain: i had little pain really. quite like at strong discomfort rather than pain. din't take much painkillers at all. i have 2 young children and full time job and i found it ok. in fact, i had the op on sat and went to work on monday! (although this wasn't ideal, i have very busy job). i took arnica but still bruised and swelled a lot on legs although i do bruise very easily. i didn't tell anyone and noone guessed although a few have commented that i am looking trim. i am now 3 weeks post op. i would say be prepared for the fact that this isn't instant. i am starting to see improvements now and change of shape but in the first instance was quite swollen. in terms of accomodation etc: i stayed at the husa president park. it was really nice but the wrong end of town. try to stay somewhere nearer the station midi if i was you. the clinic is ok to find, you can get a tram. I trammed it to and from op. brussels is ok but i have never seen so many H and M's in one place! good luck and send me a PM for more info. L

I have had chin liposuction (jowels) in the last year, but not with the same Doctor you are using. My op was done under local aneasthetic and really was a "nothing" operation with little bruising. I just had one stitch either side of my chin which could not be seen as it was underneath. You will need to wear a support bandage for a couple of days and after that when you sleep for about a week (I can't remember completely). If you are concerned with bruising then start taking Arnica tablets for two weeks before your op as I did - it really helps both with bruising and the healing process. There are a couple of other herbal tablets my doctor told me to take, but I have forgotten what they are.
Good luck - this op really makes a difference!
