Transform Medical Group Susan Lipson Abbey Pines Hospital 192 Altrincham Road Manchester M22 4RZ
Following my recent telephone conversation regarding my recent operation with you I write this letter to make a formal complaint.
I first came to transform in April 2007 for a consultation for a Breast Augmentation, I saw yourself and Prof Farrallo, who told me no uplift was needed, just a BA, prices and sizes were discussed but at no time was it said that an uplift or the fact that the larger implants could cause a drop and the I would need an uplift. I came into the Abbey Pines hospital about 4 times after that to pay instalments of £1000 until the balance was paid. My Pre Operative screening was on the 10th of August and my Operation was booked for the 2nd of September 2007. On the day of my operation I saw Prof Farrallo again and me marked me up ready for the operation, with another doctor of who i'm not sure of there name. Implant size was discussed again and Prof Farrallo put a range from 300cc to 500cc on the consent form, as I thought he knew best I thought I would leave the size up to him, and still nothing about sagging or possibility of needing an uplift was mentioned.
A few hours after my operation Prof Farrallo came to see me to say he put 460cc in and they would be fine and now would look more in proportion.
I was really pleased for the first time in years and felt good about myself. My recovery was fantastic and pain was minimal, after about 7-8 weeks I noticed that when I took my bra off they dropped more then I thought that would have done, and also didnt seem to have any volume in the upper chest area when wearing lower cut tops.
My follow up appointment was on the 7th November 2007 when I thought I would express my concerns to the surgeon; I saw a different surgeon as Prof Farrallo had retired. My appointment was with Mr Selvaggi who told me I would need an uplift as the measurement from breast bone to nipple should be 22cm and mine is 27cm!!! I was very upset with this news as I worked so hard to raise the money for my breast augmentation and never was in mentioned that I would need an uplift. If the fact that a large implant would cause sagging was told to me I could have made my own decision about having the 460cc implants before the operation. To be honest the scarring of an uplift scares me a lot, but my confidence about my breasts has disappeared yet again, and I dont feel a can be happy with them the way they are.
I accept that if I had been told an uplift was needed and I declined then that would be my responsibility and I would have to pay for the uplift. But as I wasnt told at any time before my operation I feel this is not my fault and the fact of inconvenience that I shouldnt have to pay to put right what isnt my fault.
I have 3 children and I saved very hard to get the money together for my operation but I feel it has not benefited me as I thought it would. I have spoken to my partner and a few other people and feel as it is not my fault the costs should be covered as part of my aftercare plan.
Yours Faithfully

Fab letter. I went for a consultation with Transform and must say I'd never go back there again. The patient co-ordinator who I had was so rude and pushy, and was expecting me to pay a deposit when I hadnt even seen a surgeon

What a great letter, Sorry you have had to go through all of that. I had a total nightmare with transform, Ms Lutz was very un professional when dealing with my consultation, I left and never went back!!

I think you have stated the facts well, not been too over emmotional but expressed your financial postion and expectations.

Hello, your letter sounds like you've poured your heart out and it must be really upsetting for you. Although you've stated everything that's happened it's a bit 'emotional' rather than putting across what you want to achieve. i'd HIGHLY recommend vistiting a website called www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk or .com. It's a brilliant group of experts who can give you tonnes of free legal advice and maybe some other tips on where you stand if you pursued this through a solicitor. Just give it a go. I know us girlies are all here for you to support your head and your heart, but that sight could give you legal advice you really need. Good luck!
