| Thread started by: | "Very unhappy with scars-should i complain?" Posted by emilyleriche 20 April at 16:55
hey all, i had BA 10 days ago and went for my first check up to have my bandages and stitched taken out yesterday. First problem-the nurse went to take my bandage off and i was all prepared to have my stitches out (im very squimish)when he told me he wouldnt have to take them out as it seems id had dissolvable stitches. The problem is when i had my consultaion with my surgeon pre op, he'd told me he didnt use dissolvable stitches as they dont leave such could scar results/healing as the non dissolvable. So i thought its worth going though the pain of having the stitches removed and have better results long term. but to my suprise i find out he'd gone behind my back and hadnt used them even though he told me he would!!
secondly...i only noticed once id gone home and was showing my bf my scars that they are both very wonky. neither are in on the crease under my breats one if quite considerably high up the breast if this makes any sense. i thought surgeons tried to get them as close to the crease so it doesnt show? i dont know whether i should complain or not, as lets face it now the scars are there i cant do anythin about it but when youve paid £4000 you expect good results. I had Mr singh who i thought had a very high reputation but from how my scars are looking it looks like he did the operation half asleep! to add to this im very dissapointed with the size-i had 410cc and i am so convinced that there not inside me, they look so small i just cant see how its possible.
any advice on the scars, size, complains etc would be really good as im feeling a bit depressed at the mo.. !!

Bio oil is just a very thin orangy oil that you rub into your scars and areas of stretched skin, it helps prevent you getting stretch marks as it keeps your skin supple, but also it reduced your scars appearance by softening the skin and reducing the redness.

hey sarah, oh please dont worry too much, i hope i havent put you off. i stayed in the heath clinic-it was lovely i got looked after soooo well-i had a lovely american lady who looked after me at night she was great. i actually really enjoyed the whole experience-the excitment of going into surgery and the fact if being looked after afterwards. wierd i know as everyone's normally glad its over but id do it again no probs! in regards to size i was a small 32b or large 32a which ever way you wanna look at it. i had 410cc overs im currently wearing 34dd support bra but its a bit loose so need to get another one. thing is when i measure myself i was only coming out a 32c! i just dont see how its possible when ive had such a huge implant on my body size-im only a dress size 6! what size are you going to-from etc...which surgeon. I had Mr singh he's meant to really good so not quite sure whats going on with my scars-il just have to give it time i guess! try not to worry, love Em x

Hi if you arnt happy with scar i would complain. Yeah sure, they cant do anything about it now but they need to know ya not happy. The scar thing was a big issue with me cos i had noticed on quite a few pics and peeps id seen that some were too high up for my liking. So i actually mentioned this to my ps. Mine is in the right place but im so sorry that after spending all that cash you arnt happy. I am 5ft2 8st 10 size 10 30 rib was 34b now a very tight 34d i had 335 silicone med profile overs. And with clothes you can hardly see a difference really but wow when i take my bra off they are huge. When i measure myself though its only coming up as a c and i think its cos of implants and not being real boobs. I bet as soon as you can go try bras on you will be a lot bigger than youre thinking. With you being smaller than me with 410cc you gotta look bigger.Cheer up am sure you look lovely x

Hi Emily
Dissolveable stitches can look just as good, i had sissolveable and im 5 weeks post op, just started to use bio oil a week a go and now they are looking fab, slowly they are softening and fading, so i wouldnt worry about the dissolvable ones as long as you use bio oil.
As for being above the crease, i have always been told that they make the incision just above the crease to prevent any rubbing from the bones in your bras when you start wearing normal bras again. As long as the incisions are underneath the breast and you use the bio oil im sure in a few weeks they will fade and look fab.
410cc? What size were you before and what size are you now? Did you have unders/overs? Just because unders tends to squashh the implants for a while.

410-well im tiny body frame i wear dress size 6-8 only 5"4 and 7 stone so was told 410cc would look huge on me. i was a 32 fulla or small b before and although im wearing a 34dd support bra its kinda big and i tried to measure myself using instructions on M&S website and i measured myself as a c cup!! the worst thing is the just before i went in to surgery the surgeon asked me if i was sure i didnt wanna go for 460cc and i said no, now everyday i wake up im thinking..if only!! which is the worst thing to think. i know its only less than two weeks so the scars dont exactlt look great but what about them looking wonky, they are def not in line with each other what so ever! thanks for your reply x oh and i had overs so unfortuantly there not going to get any bigger!

well if the scars are that wonky then yeah i would complain, although as you say theres not much he can do now. The bio oil will make them look loads better and when they start to fade you wont be able to tell how wonky they are anyway so im sure you will feel fine about them in a few weeks.
As for the size, 410 does sound big for your build, I had 300cc unders, i was 32a then and now im 32d, size 8-10 top. I think i could have gone slightly bigger but im not dissappointed. Im surprised that you say you only measured a C cup though, have you actually went into M&S and had someone measure you just incase you measured wrong. P.S. 34DD is more like 32E. So maybe you should get a 32D/DD support bra.

Hay,
I am 2 weeks post op and my scars are also wonky and still look very bad at the moment. Do you think it is to early for me to judge if they will heel OK ?
Also I have bouoght bio-oil but do not know whether or not to use it yet as the scars do not look like they are healed yet. Any advice would be great.

Hi Lianne,
I would start to use bio-oil now on your actual breasts to prevent stretch mars but DONT apply anywhere near the scars until at least 4-5wks.
My scars have only started to look better nearly 6 wks post-op after a week of using bio oil on them, so i would think be patient and give yourself a few more weeks and all will be fine.
