Hi all,

Does anyone know when we can start running (treadmill/road running)after the BA???

Im 7 weeks post op now and have gotta wait a bit longer to see PS as he only comes up to Newcastle on certain dates which meant id go slightly over my 6week post op check up with the surgeon, had the one with dressings off and they said 6weeks for "light" exercise..... Id class running as "heavy" exercise considering how much they could potenially move around!!! haha.

Also weights- any idea's when we can re-sume the ol bench press???

Im DESPERATE to start up again

oh hello,
in the same situation sweetie,im 11 days post op,i stopped the gym 10 days before the op so the muscles would relax a bit as i had unders,i usually go 4/5 days a week doing cardio and weights,and really love it....its been a nightmare not being able to go,and im dreaming of the tredmill Mmmmmmmm.
i was told light excercise after 6 weeks so tredmill (walking),cycle,and skier,but without the arms...no rowing yet,and no weight for 3 months.

OMG.................3months NO WEIGHTS! I am gutted about that like. How on earth am i going to do NO WEIGHTS for 3months in total! OMG!

Well to add to the "stress" of no exercise, I am doing the Great North Run (3rd one ) at very beginning of October, its 13.1miles, and need to be in good shape for that.

I am still going to do leg squats and lunges- my only prob being that I wont be able to get the 25kg weight over my head with not being able to use chest muscles now! Ill have to see if I can find a gym buddy to load it onto the back of my neck with the barbell.
Its mainly my lower body that I am desperate to train again. Shoulders and biceps are in need too.

Well Ive got a spinning bike here at home, so im loading my Ipod up now so I can go for my first spin since before my op! cant wait...
O I really miss running outdoors though
