Right, where to start!
Ive been unhappy with my tuberous breasts since school. lways dreamed of a BA.
However in March 2006 i lost my mum to breast cancer which totally put me off the idea for a while.

Summer last year i realised this was a big issue i had to solve as i was so unhappy and this would make me feel more comfortable in myslef.

Went to see Dr Foo from my breast and due to the history of cancer he advised me to have genetic screening which i am really pleased about. The results came back that i could go ahead with implants.

A year later stll hadnt heard anything back from Mybreast, realised that this easter was the perfect if not only oppurtunity for me to have implants and so made appointments to see surgeons this week, my breast and Dr mahdi at Mya.
Dr foo cancelled and so i saw Mahdi yesterday.

Offered me implants with corrective mastexopy, recommended 380unders (after seeing pics i think this is FAR TOO BIG as i am only 34aa and dont want to go back to uni after easter with huge boobs, just want to finally have some 'natural' shape and breats.

The only date he had available was the 10th March... 2nd anniversary of my mums death
bit weird.

Alsp pirice is 5300!!!!!!

Seeing Dr Foo next tuesday who i thought was great but only offered me tissue expansion because of tubular breasts... something i definately do not want ot go ahead with.
21..... confused.... nobody to talk to.
Any advise greatly appreciated
xx

I am so sorry to hear about your mum, it must have been so hard to go through.

I would have to agree with Kellykan, I think you could see this as a sign to go ahead and do something you have been putting off. Its almost as if its your mum supporting you and Im sure she would want you to do whatever made you happy. Please dont take me wrong, I got a lump in my throat when I read your story. I am a firm believer in signs and fate!

i had my Ba in Dec and i had tuberous breast i had them done with Graham offer at the spires hospital Leicester (used to be Bupa) the cost was £4450. i went fro a b to a 34dd i am a size 8/10 and didnt need tissue expansion, my surgeon just made insision inside the breast so that the implant filled the breast and i am happy with the results.

Hi Charlie

I have tuberous breasts too; I saw Dr Foo on Friday; he's on holiday this week so I imagine that's why you were rescheduled.

I really really liked Dr Foo; and I was impressed with the tissue expansion method he suggested. Why is it you don't seem keen on this? I have tuberous breasts but mine aren't particularly droopy it's more the shape.

I've researched the tissue expansion method and it's well recommended.

Mr Foo probably won't do tissue expansion method for you via MyBreast; they use Allergan implants and for the tissue expansion he used Mentor Beckers which are like normal silicone implants with an expandable saline core. He told me they won't let him use the Mentors and he refuses to use the normal implants as it won't work.

I was really really impressed with Mr Foo's before and after pics of tuberous breasts and he is an expert at correcting it.

I don't know how much he charges as he's referred me to my GP to see if the NHS will cover it first; waiting for them to get his letter and go from there.

I was recommended max size of about 350cc to end up because I have a narrow breast base. To be honest almost anything would be an improvement.

I'm really sorry to hear about your mum; the whole thing must be very emotional for you.

If you want info on the tissue expansion method there is an article online about it - it's very medical but you should get the gist; in theory the tissue expansion forces your boobs to grow correctly rather than cutting them apart to do it: have a look here - http://www.springerlink.com/content/x58k6793564042-57/fulltext.pdf

I'd be really interested to hear what Mr Foo has to say and I'll let you know what happens re the NHS.

Im 23 and I've wanted to do something about my boobs for almost a decade now :'( - it's oddly reassuring and also a bit depressing finally finding out what's wrong with them!

Hi - Firstly I am really sorry to hear about your mum that must be really hard.

As for your tubular breasts - I had them too, they were horrible and thought about ba for a very long time. I was so worried about what people would say etc.

I recomment dr gargano from transform, he told me exactly how he could help me - he was realistic and told me that they would not be perfect but would certainly be better than what I had.

I am so pleased I went with him ! The surgery cost me £4900 and have to say he is such a gentleman and made me better about my breasts.

I am going on to 3 weeks post op and can honestly say that it hurts but at wk 3 the pain has gone and the scars are healing very well. I was a 36b and now am a 36 d/dd. (I had 380cc overs) They do not feel or look massive and to be honest no one has commented as I have been wearing loose cardigans etc. I imagine come summer everyone will then comment but by then I will be so used to them that I wont really care what anyone says.

I had a very good service from transform and would certainly recommend them to anyone, and defo mr gargano for tubular breasts.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

Hi

Sorry to hear about your difficult time. On one hand it may seem strange to have this done on your mums anniversary but on the other hand, forgive me if I am speaking out of turn, but is this an opportunity/fate - someones way of saying 'go ahead'! I often feel that when things like this come up it's sprits way of offering a helping hand and telling you its the right thing to do. The fact that out of 365 days, this one came up must have some meaning.

I know what you mean about sounding too big, I have just (Friday gone) gone from a 34a/tiny b with very little breast tissue and had 410cc unders. To be honest, they lookied big at first but with clothes on I'm a bit let down lol.

I was a little concerned as history of breast cancer in the family and I had a lump removd about 4 years ago when I was 26 which was fine so was ok to go ahead.

I think, if this is what you want to do then you should do what is going to make your happy - I am sure your mum would want you to be happy and not feel bad about things.

xx
