hi all, i posted a while back about my weird bulgy bit on the lower side of one of my breasts near the drain scar. thought it was an air pocket for a while but it didnt go away so i didn't know what it was. rang the nurse and she said to stay in sports bra until appt with surgeon at 7 weeks. Well..ive been today to see surgeon and he wants me to do another 12 WEEKs in the sports bras and see him again in 3mths. he said the tissue is thin in that area and its the implant sticking out that i can feel. need to keep it supported for the tissue to thicken up so theres more between the implant and the skin. he said should be fine by my next appt just got to wait for tissue to thicken.

I'm worried that this is the start of bottoming out, although the surgeon didnt mention it or seem worried, i'm thinking thats what might happen if the skin doesn't thicken up. can't believe ive got to spend the whole summer in sports bras. anybody else had an experience like this?

thx in advance - blue x x

OMG so sorry for you, 19 weeks is a long time isnt it, i wouldnt worry about bottoming ,not just yet anyway.I know its a long time but wait and see what happens, i know, easier said than done, but give him the benifit of doubt. Did he say what would happen if it doesnt thicken up? and what caused it to be thin? Where did you have it done? x

hi,thanks sandy. i didn't ask what would happen if it doesn't thicken, he seemed quite laid back and not worried and said it just needs some more time. i dont know why its thin, it is where the drain hole was so maybe thats contributed, although the drain scar on the other side and the breast around it is fine. looking on the american sites i'm wondering if this is what they mean about the capsule forming, maybe that part hasn't formed properly yet so hasn't hardened. had them done at a nuffield hosp in wolverhampton, mr m moiemen. really pleased with the surgeon, my boobs and scars look fab apart from this one part.- blue x
"Not to worry"

I would have thought if he was so laid back and matter of fact, then he doesnt think it will be a problem. So bet you have nothing to worry about. But i bet its so hard not to, and 19 bl***y weeks in a sports bra is like for ever, it will be worth it in the end x
