"Has anyone had ba with lift/ nipple lift/ full mastopexy?"
Posted by purplealy 3 May  at  00:43

Hi all!

It has been suggested at a consult that I should consider having a lift (from areola/ benelli lift) as well as BA. As it would be more effective and give me the appearence I desire.

Has anyone had the above procedure with BA? Lollipop lift or full mastopexy? Would like to hear of your experience.

I would also be grateful of info on your stats, before and after size? CC size? Full or partial lift? recovery time? expectations? pros and cons? Clinic? Surgeon? and costs?

I am still debating whether I should go ahead with my surgeons suggestion (purely because of the increase in cost) or if I should just go with the straight forward BA. Therefore, your comments and advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Alyssa x

Hi,i've had a full mastopexy and enlargment by Dr.Russo at Transform.I'm 28,6feet tall and a size 12.My bust size before has alway's been a saggy 36B and i have wanted implants for some time, especialy since giving birth to my son 7 years ago as my bust looked worse.I am going to be completely honest with you,as i wish someone had been with me.I went for 3 consultation's in March with different companie's.First i went to the Harley Medical group,i thought i would just need implants and i was shocked when they told me that i would need a lift too. They advised me that i would need a Mastopexy, which involes the removel of excess skin and moving the nipple up,leaving the scar round the nipple, down the breast and underneith the breast.I was realy concerned that the scar's would be faintly visible and that i wouldn't be happy, plus it was going to be double the price and couldn't help but wonder if they just wanted my money.I thought hard about what they had told me and decided to go back and have a consultation with the surgeon, when i saw her i expressed the fact that i wouldn't be happy with the scars and was there another way i could get the lift. She said that an areola lift would be enough, which meant a small cut around the top of the areola where the nipple could be lifted, the implant inserted.leaving fullness and less scarring,it made more sence and was less money.I asked the surgeon what size of implant did she recommend considering my shape and build, she told be that a large one would be better(at least 345cc plus) to create the fullness, probably taking me to a D-DD.I tried the implant in my bra and it loked massive, but good.I desided to go to 2 other companie's first to compare what they had to offer before making my final choice.Next i went to The Hospital group,I was impressed by the greating i got and the staff were professional and friendly, there i saw an italian surgeon who didn't rush me and asked me what i wanted and what my expectations of the surgery would be.After telling him that i would like boob's like Victoria Beckham,ha(couldn't think of anyone else!)he was very honest with me and explained that i needed to be realistic about what could be acheived,i would need an areola lift and a large implant to create the fullness of the saggy skin,he showed me some photo's of a pateint who had had the same proceedure and they looked fab! It gave me confidence in trusting him.My consultation took around 30mins and i felt that this was going to be the one,but i thought there was know harm in trying the third company. My third consultation was with Transform with a Dr.Russo,i had heard excellent reports about this man,as he has apeared on T.V before and is one of transform's most popular surgeons when it come's to boob's,and has a waiting list. When i went he was running late and there were so many people waiting to see him! my appiontment was nearly an hour late and when i went in i got the impression this was a very confident surgeon,i told him that i'd been to other companie's and i'd explained what they had told me,Dr Russo told me that the other proceedures that had been recomended by both other surgeon's wouldn't create my disired look.He told me that i needed a full Mastopexy to create the lift and a smaller implant, the bigger implants would have just filled the breast but would sag quicker again over time,by having a mastopexy it wold last longer,i told him that i was bothered about the scarring,he told me not to worry and that he's good and he'd promise me they would fade to nothing after 12 month's.He sounded as if he new exactly what he was talking about and i just wanted to get it done i was sick of just going to consultations,so i booked it there and then for 17th May,it worked out more money for the 2 proceedures but i din't mind if the result was going to be good!it cost me £6,095,were as the other proceedures were going to be £4,995.I had done some research on the internet about Dr.Russo and i'd read load's of positive report's,although i had come across 2 ladie's that had decided not to go with him coz he prefer's to use smaller implant's for a more natural look and wouldn't go bigger than a full C cup on some women,it made me have doubt's as he'd told me that he would only use a 260cc implant to take me to a full C,which he said would be big enough,i took his advice as its his job and must know what he is talking about. On the day of my surgery i was still bothering myself about the size of implant i was going to have,i deciced that i was going to ask for a bigger one so that i would be a full D,it would be so disappointing to only go up 1 cup size. When i saw Dr.Russo on the day i told him that i wanted to go to a full D cup,he said that that would be fine and i felt happier. The staff were excellent, and everything went well,i was tiered after and not realy with it and when i looked at my boob's taped up and swollen i thought they were amazing, but it was early day's.When the swelling went down after 4-5 days and started putting on tops that i would normally ware i started to notice that they weren't much fuller and that my boobs just seamed a better shape. My post op bras are a C cup,NOT A D,not one person has noticed that i have had my boob's done and that is a shock considering that i am a hairdresser and have loads of customers, you would have thought that one of them would have noticed some difference. My friends keep telling me that they just look natural, but i know they are just being polite. The shape of them are great, but are just too small, when i have looked at my discharge sheet i have only had the 260cc implants and i asked for them bigger,i am seeing Dr Russo on fri 13th(appropriate date i guess)and i will be expressing how i feel and just have to wait and see what the outcome is,i will be taking one of my bras that i wore before the op as i can still fit them! AT this moment in time i feel robbed of my money and so dissapionted,if i had the choice again the areola lift makes more sence with the bigger implant so that would be my advice. And as for implant size don't be scared to go bigger,i wish i was a DD with me being 6feet tall.I hope that my story has given you something to think about and hasn't bored you to much!way up everything and go with your gut feeling not with what everyone say's,ask to look at photos before and after and even ask to speek to others who have had it done,i should have!Good luck and let me know how you get on.

"My ba"
Posted by littlelisa7 11 May  at  12:51

Pre op i was 36b with no upper tissue. I had 280cc under the muscle with a full mastopexy taking me to a full c small d. My surgeon was Marcos Sforza at THG.

the cost of my surgery was £5995 which included 3yrs aftercare and no transport.

My surgeon gave me the desired look i so much wanted other than the scars from my infection and due to the fact im allergic to the stitches that were used. Some parts of the scars are barely visible but the infection site and areas where the stitches surfaced are not a pretty sight.

THG have been fab with the aftercare, cant do enough for me. Seeing Mr payne soon to arrange scar removal.

Overall im happy with my surgeon, my news boobs when in a top(scars hidden) THG.... just a little sad that ive had a tough ride of it all!
"Thanks!"

Hey ya! Thanks for your response.

I hope you are able to get things resolved with regards to scarring.

Take care,

Will definitely be in touch.

I had mastoplexy & implants / benelli lift version - only 4 weeks ago and I can no longer see the scar. AMAZING. Total cost was £6,400. BUPA. PS wouldnt do just implants as he wouldnt be happy with the outcome, and said a bigger implant would just make me more prone to sagging .Had 310cc,med prof Overs. went from a A-Cup to now wearing 34D but still need time to let them settle and get measured properly. got some before&after pics set up PM me for link&password if it would be of any help.?

Hello,

I am thinking about going ahead with mastopexy and BA the only doubt i have is the scarring and i was wondering if you could share your experience with me regarding the scarring and operation. I would be truly grateful.

Hi ya!

The surgeon I saw recently said the same. It is quite expensive would you say its worth the end result? So you are happy with the results so far and with the PS and clinic?

Pain wise how are you bearing up?

Posted by fluffing 5 May  at  22:47

I am really pleased with the result, feel so much better in my clothes . even in my PJ's I look better !! The end result is worth it, I couldnt have afforded to go back in a few years time and pay another £4k for the uplift or afforded to take time out from my family & work commitments for recovery again, so glad I got it all in one go. I was so stressed out about the whole thing before hand, but looking back I don't know what I was making a big fuss about, there's no pain, but you do feel uncomfortable for the first few days and a little bit tender. I am a big wimp (and would say honestly if it was bad - and it isnt).

I have had 3 follow up appointments with my PS since my BA (5weeks ago)and next appointment is in a months time.

The price I paid was an all inclusive price for everything. (surgeon/own overnight room/anesthetic guy/consultations/follow-ups and aftercare/pre&post op pics/blood tests) so was well worth it. would recommend bupa or nuffield no problems.(24hour tel number to phone on discharge if worried about anything).

I think the "peace of mind" is what I have ended up paying for, but as I'm such a worrier was worth it.
"That sounds amazing!"
Posted by purplealy 5 May  at  23:58

Wow!

That sounds amazing!

I'm glad you had a great experience.

You've definitely put my mind at ease.

But that is a major amount of money and I thought £4,900 was expensive!

I did look at Bupa at one point, but couldn't afford them. The next best company I have come across so far is mybreast.

Thank you so much for all the info, much appreciated.

"Fluffing... one more question?"
Posted by purplealy 6 May  at  07:45

A quick question (this may sound stupid), my surgeon and I had discussed unders (which I am happy to go ahead with), however, if I have the areola lift as well as BA do you know if it is still possible to have unders? Or would the implant have to be placed over the muscle?

Alyssa x
"Hey again"
Posted by ffluffylumps 3 May  at  17:09

Was that at mybreast?? How much does it add on the cost?
I'm having some kind of lift in 6 months or so when i settle down.

"Hi ya!"
Posted by purplealy 3 May  at  18:49

Hi ya!

Yeah, that'll be with mybreast.

In total it will cost £4,900.

This procedure had been suggested by another surgeon. However, Dr Hamilton has suggested I can have an areola lift as I have less obtrusive ptosis and this type of lift is less invasive.

I do feel he knows what he is talking about and I feel very comfortable with him. Although, the overall cost now means I either have to postpone having surgery this year to save or look into getting a loan, which I did not want to do (still paying off uni loan and other debts )

By the way how are you doing? How many days/weeks post op? When are you back to work? Are you happy with the results? And if you don't mind me asking, why did you not go for the uplift and BA together?

"Lift"
Posted by ffluffylumps 3 May  at  19:07

It would be a shame to postpone it!! seriously as once you have them you wish you had done it sooner
Saying that you also have to get the best result possible.
How do u feel about your nipple position/ areola??? (PM me if u want) Does it bother you? - u might know that the implant will lift this to a certain extent BUT this is obviously dependant on what you begin with. I think it will correct it if very slight.
I can't remember your size- did u breastfeed or loose weight at some point?? I didn't do either- just turned out like that!

I'm ok, still a few pains here and there. I started work again monday actually, that was probably too soon... only 3 days off work hmmm. but i just sit at a computer all day so no big deal for me. At night i just sit and watch movies to make up for it.

Yeah it sounds werid that i'm doing two op's i guess. the reason being that they sat in different heights so really need to see how my implants settle.
I was against it at first (as u can imagine didn't want to go thru surgery again... and also i feel i'm still waiting for teh final result) but i had a few consults and they said the same thing.

I imagine you can do yours at same time though- consider it lucky!

hope this helps

"Lift"
Posted by purplealy 3 May  at  19:21

I am 27yrs old, 5ft7(and a bit), size 8/10, currently a 32b, would like to be a D cup.

I have slight/mild sagging. I have no children. My weight changed slightly in my late teens, not drastically(from 10 to 6/8), but the first place the weight dropped off was from my chest

I have no problems with the current placement of my nips, however, if they were higher, I know this would give my breasts the appearance of being pert and lifted.

Dr Hamilton did say the implants will lift my breasts, but only very slight. I personally wouldn't want the implants to weigh my breasts any lower.

So in a way I would prefer to wait a bit, save money and have the BA and lift and be happy with the results. I'm tempted to get a loan but unfortunately have a few money issues to resolve first. But I hear what your saying, I wish I'd gone ahead with this in my early 20's.

Glad to hear you're coming along nicely! TAKE IT EASY GIRL! Have you had your bandages/strap off? Are they what you hope for and expected?

Well you never know, I've been feelin really implusive lately! I may just get a loan and go for it! Then deal with the consequences later! Lol!

Thanks for getting back to me, take care x

Hey!

Who are you having your BA and lift with? Unders or overs?

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be fine!

"I have had ba with nipple lift"
Posted by millie999 4 May  at  12:39

Hi,

I have had a BA with nipple lift combined op back in Sept 06. there was a 2cm difference between the levels of my breast so my surgeon RENATO at the hospital group advised a nipple lift would even this out without the need for a full uplift which would result in more scars.

I had 325cc in the left and 400cc in the right implanted through the nipple- this left me with minimal scars which could hardly be seen (I went to my GP and he had to ask where the scar was!) The scar not being under the breast aslo means that your bra wont rub on it whilst healing- much better!

I ended up larger than i wanted, I was a 34/36B, asked to go to a D cup, I ended up wearing 34F, sometimes even a 34G. Also, the difference in nipple levels were more prominent than ever. It took me 4months of battling with THG to get corrective surgery. After months of me chasing them and endless phonecalls they finally agreed to correct. I had a 2nd nipple lft on 17th April 07. When i came around I was in WAY more pain than last time, having much more morphine to cancel out the pain.

I had my dressings off yesterday (I dont think you would be bandaged up with this typeof ba and lift) Its not pretty. But fingers crossed the swelling will settle and my breasts will even out. The level is the same now, though my right breast is, i would say at present 1 cup size smaller than the left.

Hope this helps...

sorry to hear of all your problems, i've just had BA for correction. I have my nipple revision later on this year, although i am worried what the scarring will look like.

Are your incisions worse than last time??

I'm just wondering why it was so much more painful this time???
Have they put smaller implants in now?

take care

Hi Millie!

I really hope you heal nicely and get the results and appearance you intially wanted. Be sure to take plenty of vitamin C, Arnica and vitamin E for healing.

Would you say this procedure is worthwhile? Any regrets at all?

A quick question (this may sound stupid), my surgeon and I had discussed unders, however, if I have the areola lift as well as BA do you know if it is still possible to have unders? Or would the implant have to be placed over the muscle?

I hope you have a speedy recovery, all the best!
