I went for a consulation late last year with the company that i really wanted to go with. I managed to save up and during that time they had a offer on of £250 off the procedure. So i was made up as i thought £250 less for me to save .....well thats what i thought.

The company had only put the price up £330 from the original price.
So other people who had never been for a consulation previous think there getting a good deal getting £250 off but yet there not as the prices have gone up anyway.
The best of it is though, NO-ONE informed me of the prices going up. I just received a letter about the £250 off!
So when i went to pay the rest of my balance i was a couple of hundred pounds short as i wasn't informed of the price change.

I now have had to put my date back for my ba to the end of next month as i need to raise the extra cash, but i am really debating as to go with this company as i feel i have been misinformed, also if they quote me a price shouldn ... stay at that price?

My only problem i have paid for nearly half my ba with this company. An am worried i won't be able to get it all back.

The adviser was so lovely when i first met her. When i phoned her to speak about this problem, she wasn't the lovely woman i first met!

does not make sense hin, sound like there trying to just get extra cash of you. i would threaten them and say you are going to cancel. how much are you paying hin. just i no they can say different prices to everyone. i went down with a girl who paid an extra 300 than me with same company.

Thats not fair really.

What did the advisor say.....surely if you've already started paying for it with the deposit it should have been at the price you were quoted then when you initally paid your deposit.I'd ring again and say you're wanting it at the original price.(did you get a receipt or anything stating what you had left to pay when you paid the deposit.)

I know when i paid my £500 deposit i got a receipt and was told what i had left to pay,but a week after i paid my deposit an offer with them came up saying if you had your BA before end feb you got £250 off.So i rang my advisor who rang head office and got me £250 off mine,as the offer wasnt on when i paid my deposit.

If you have no luck...i'd ring the head office and explain that you have paid nearly half only to be told that its gone up....and ask them if they can do it at the original price you were quoted as its unfair to put the price up now you've started the process of booking with them.I'm sure you'd have more luck with them.

I know with some theres a cancellation charge....the amount depends on how close you are to the date of your op.

When i called the advisor and explained everything, all she said was 'Oh the price has gone up since then. I will have to reschedule for next month.' I was due to go in on thursday!! :[

I am going to call first thing in the morning to see if i can speak to someone above this woman to try an sort it out. As i really want to have my ba done with them as the surgeon is a really good one. Hopefully there will be away around it an i can get it done at the price i was told in the first place.

Dont let them fob you off.

Its like booking a holiday....only to find out when you come to pay the remaining balance the price has gone up.......it doesnt,and cant.


Tell them that you were to be having it done this week,at that price......and what are they gonna do about it.They cant put the price up,and i'm sure that they wouldnt want to get a bad reputation.Don't let them make you reschedule for next month.....tell them you were all prepared for this week.

Definately ask for someone higher up than her,and i'm sure you'll get it sorted.(i honestly cant see how they can get away with putting the price up like that)

Let me know tomorrow how you get on.......be assertive and tell them what you want.

Do you have anything in writing for the price quoted, or can you remember the name of the person who gave you the verbal quote? A quote by law has to be stuck to if its withing a certain time frame, regardless of their price increase. A estimate is a rough guide and can change. I would get onto them and explain, saying they cant go back on what they told you originally

I do an i know the persons name who i spoke to. Am hoping when i call in the morining i can sort it out. It wasn't an estimated price she gave me it was the price for the op at that time. So i am hoping it will get sorted as i have the nescessery info and the are a known company.
