I guess I'll just have to wait and see how the pain is etc etc and not rush anything, I can easily sell my ticket if I don't feel up for it a few days before.
Sorry if I sounded like I thought it would be a breeze....I don't, just trying to see the bright side of things! Will exposure to the sun effect healing? Surely it would have the same reaction as pre op skin? After all I cannot see any difference epidermally.

"Going out so soon" Posted by nyks2000 9 May at 17:59
Well I personally think 5 days is a little ambitious to be going to this type of event, especially depending on where it is. I mean don't you think you'll be knocked about a bit. I think it does depend on the person and how they feel but maybe you should give yourself as much time as possible to recover properly. You may have a high pain threshold and will cope fine unlike some I dunno how anyone else feels but you should also ask if you should be exposing yourself to direct sunlight so soon. It's all very exciting an I may just be paranoid but don't do too much once you've had them done.
Having said all that i hope it all goes well, remember you've got forever after to enjoy them. Sorry if I sound like a kill joy. x

"24th may" Posted by naomi404 9 May at 17:12
hi mines on 24th may (straight after my final uni exams) and wondered if by the 30th, 6 days after, i can go out for dinner and cinema for a friends' birthday without being in too muc pain??
Im having partial unders. Will it be ok to drive long distances after about 2 weeks?? It's so hard trying to plan ahead! Can you sunbathe wearing a low cut strappy top/bikini straight after or couple of days after the op??

"The concert" Posted by kiwi1978 9 May at 15:42
Hi,
I had over two weeks ago today and 5 days post op couldn't walk up-right...no real pain, but just felt like lying down and was swollen...I'd say sell ya ticket and go another time! I love the Foos as well...but even now I couldn't manage a night out on the town as they still feel a bit tendor! + all the money you've spent on them..

"Realistically ... no .. i doubt!" Posted by thessaloniki2 9 May at 14:57
I had my BA done on the 7th April .... I had tickets to see KT Tunstall on the 13th .... I thought I'd be fine .... but I didn't end up going ... was gutted as I really wanted to go .... there was 'no way' I could have managed it .... You sound just like I did before I had mine done ..... thought it would be an absolute breeze ... but you will need time to heal, especially with unders .... Sorry Missbirchall ... but you did ask & I am being as realistic as I can ... but hey ho ... who knows ? .... you may manage it after all .... maybe I'm more of a wuss than I realise lol ... Good luck anyway.

"Should be fine." Posted by traceyg2 9 May at 12:15
I had my ba on monday and went back to work yesterday because i was so bored of sitting around with nothing to do. Since i woke up from the op i have had no pain, apart from short bursts when i do cerain things which use the strength in my arms (like pulling up my car handbreak) but ive had worse headaches. I went out the day i had the op as well as every day since and have been fine pulling tops over my head and washing my hair. obviously everyone recovers at different rates but i'd say you'll be fine to go to a concert and even if you are in pain they give you pain killers (altough ive not needed to take any), hopefully youll be the same. as for the mucking out stables i think you should hold off from that for a while just to avoid the risk of reopening your wounds. xx

"Hiya" Posted by sscale 9 May at 12:10
i had unders, and i could not have gone to concert on 5th day!!
of course everyone feels different, but if your having unders I would say that a concert might not be a good idea?
i could only pop out for hour or so to shop or my Mum's on day 5/6
I'm day 11 now, and still don't think I'd be confident going to anything like a concert.
It does depend on you of course.
I'm a dance teacher and I've been told not to teach dance for good 6 weeks due to over-stretching etc

Hiya,
i had unders and all things considered my recovery was really good compared to some ive read about. i went back to work and drove (small distances and very carefully!) 8 days post op. i went out 9 days post op to a comedy show and then on the town till 3am. i managed but my boobs did ache all night, and certainly couldnt have gone out like that any earlier. id say book it the first day you can make it after ur exams finish if u can! x
