My daughter has just had BA at Elyzea with Dr Tondu on Saturday I went with her because she's so soft she hates needles and anything that causes pain so I thought I was in for a real shock when she came back from theatre but she was okay she was in the small room for about 40 mins after operation and we were off in the taxi back to hotel which was in the centre of brussels. She had it through the nipple and under the muscle. So dont be put off by the pain story because I suppose people react different but I'm sure its the nipple op that isnt has painful, because if you read GoldenBrown's messages she's had the same experience as well. Hope your the same. Good Luck

Hi all! Know I haven't spoke 2 many of u but used this site before my BA and found it soooo helpful so just thought I'd write a bit about my experience incase it's useful to any of you.(sorry, it's really long!)
I had my BA on Thursday with Dr Tondu at the Elyzea clinic in Brussels. Thanks to all the other Elyzea girls posts I knew to expect great things about the clinic and I must say the staff could not be any friendlier! My consultation was not due to take place untill 11.30 but my partner and I arrived at the clinic early as had a small problem with our payment method and wanted to get it sorted out before my consult. We were greeted by a lovely young man at reception who gave me some forms to fill out then led us through to the large waiting are where there were a lot of other peopke waiting.
Dr Tondu did keep us waiting longer than expected but on meeting him I was so pleased that he was my surgeon. He is so friendly and speaks perect English. He listens to everything you say and asks you what you hope to achieve from the surgery. I had hoped that I would be able to go to a size D but I was only a very small A and had no extra or loose skin so had prepared myself to be told that this was not possible. After thoroughly investigating my breasts Dr Tondu siad that he would love to be able to give me the size I wanted but the most I should hope for was a large C and if in 9-12 months time I then wanted to go bigger this would be possible. I was quite happy to leave the size up to him as he is the professional so just asked that he give me the biggest implant possible that would have the most natural results! He decided on 330cc low profiles, under muscle. Dr Tondu specialises in the nipple incision and i already knew I wanted this due to the fact that it heals quicker and scarring is much less obvious, but he explained the pro's and con's of both this and the crease incision before leaving the decision entirely up to myself. He fully explained what would happen and left me with no doubt about the decisons that were made during the consultation.
I then met with Anne who is a wonderful woman that thoroughly explains your aftercare and answers any other questions you have as well as taking your payment. I paid £1935 in total which I think is crazy considering the prices some of the girls have been charged over here!
Shortly after I was taken to my room and given my lovely paper thong and plastic slippers (lol!) to put on then before I knew it I was saying bye to my partner and being lead away by the nurse! The nurses are very nice and can tell you are nervous. When on the table I bagan shaking uncontrollably, through nerves I guess, and the young female nurse calmed me down completely. She out a tube in my nose, saying she was just giving me a little "oxygen", next thing I know I'm being placed back in my bed in my room with 2 new mound on my chest!
From here on, it isn't so good so if you don't want to be put off don't read any further! I so was not prepared for how I would feel after surgery. After drifting in and out of sleep 4 a bit I felt very sick, very faint and very hot! My partner was worried so got a nurse who said all was normal and just brought me some coke to drink. I was in total agony and despite my protests the nurse sat me up to take my drip out! I then felt as if the nurse thought I was over-exaggerating the amount of pain I was in and this may have been because I was still a bit groggy but I got the impression that that they pretty much wanted us to leave as it was getting late. The receptionist called us a taxi then presented me with a lovely flower to take home which did cheer me upa bit!
The taxi back to the hotel was a nightmare! My partner had asked the taxi driver to take it easy over the speed bums but every time he braked or turned a corner I felt like someone was stabbing me in the chest! That night was not any better and I barely slept a wink due to the constant pain I was in. The clinic tell you to sleep on your back but I would strongly suggest NOT to and to just stay upright as trying to get back to a sitting position is unbearable!
We had to get up early the next morning to get our flight home and thank god my boyfriend was with me! (GOLDENBROWN I dont know how u managed!) He had to wash, dress me, do my hair and everything as I could not lift my arms at all. Lol. Every step was soooo painful and my support bra is so tight I lost my breath so eaily.
By the time we were back home I couldn't stop crying as I just hurt that much. At that moment I really regretted what I had done as I truly have never felt pain like that. I'd rather go through labour a million times over! However that evening my boyfriend got me stronger painkillers from the chemist though and I immediately felt better! We then opened up my bra for just five mins to let me breathe and honestly it was the greatest feeling.
Today I am feeling much better and because I have hardly moved my boobs do not feel as sore, but whenever I do get up it is still agony and at the moment I am sitting doubled over which is causing me terrible back and neck ache. Feel like a hunchback! lol.
I don't want my pain to put anyone off as I know it will all be worth it in the end, just want to warn people about it as after reading everyone elses posts on here I was not prepared at all for this kind of pain. I must have a very low pain threshold as none of u seem to have suffered that much?
Anyway, sorry about the huge story just wanted to tell all. Any questions just ask and good luck to everyone whos op is coming up!
Kim xx

Sorry you've had so much pain afterwards. I am having Dr. Tondu next month. Did you opt for the nipple incision in the end? This is something I just can't decide whether I want that or not.

I am glad that you think he is a nice man. I am getting worried that he's gonna look at my boobs and sya he can't do anything with them

At least I know to pack some nurofen now! Though I am most likely having overs so don't think I'd be in as much pain.

Hope you're feeling better now and hope you're pleased with the results!

I'm feeling so much better now thanks! Was just those first couple of days but am in hardly any pain at all now. Yeah!
lol dnt worry he really is lovely and will do his best 2 try n give u wot u want!
Yeah I had the nipple incision it was just the scarring that was my main reason for choosing that incision site. He will go over in detail all the pros and cons of both for u if ur unsure though(see my reply to hilly below for brief).
Good luck 4 urs, hope all goes well.

Hi Kim

Congratulations you've finally had them done and now comes the recovery phase. Sorry to hear you are in a lot of pain. It's really suprising how the same op affects differenct people but it will get easier every day now.

Just to let you know that Elyzea don't do low profiles. I know that is what Dr Tondu said but when he mentioned it to me low profiles I said I didn't want that and then he corrected himself saying actually they are not low as Elyzea only do medium or high profile so I would infact be getting medium profile.

You had exactly the same as me and I went in as a 32a and am now measuring a 32DD so don't be suprised if you get more than a C cup. In reality I think that I look like a good full D cup and definitely not a C cup. Hope this makes you feel happy.

Take care and good luck with the recovery. You did the right thing going with someone, I on the other hand put a lot of faith in god and I was extremely lucky - things could of gone so wrong for me.

When you do have pics I would love to see them and if you have any niggely questions feel free to ask as I am now 4 weeks post op and next week will be putting new pics on of my scars or lack of should I say. Went to see my doctor two days ago and she was amazed that she couldn't see anything on one of the nipples and not much on the other.

xx

I'm feeling so much better now thanks! 4 days post op and I'm so suprised how far my recovery has came on considering what a state I was in the other day! Lol. So please don't let my above post worry u, just wanted 2 let people know that some do experience pain! Bet u 2 will b fine
The pros r that the scarring is less visible obv; the scar should heal quicker and the cons were that there can be a slight chance u may loose sensation in nipple for good & that u may not be able to breastfeed in future, but these are small possibilities I think. Also if u r looking for anatomical implants they cannot be done thru nipple as they can't be placed properly! It was just the scarring that done it 4 me really.
I'll take pics in a few days & let u all know wen they up. Good luck 4 ur op guys!!! Kim xx

Congrats on your new assests.

Have just read your detailed Elyzea account...I must say, you didn't leave a thing out. Think its the most detailed Ive read yet. I forgot to mention the little things like the nose tube they put in before you go off to sleep and the uncontrollable shaking on the table...did they strap down your legs like mine?

I had my ba on 7th april by Dr Dedoncker. 4 weeks post op. I actually woke from op feeling fine, when I tried to get up and get dressed then the sickness and faint came on. After 3 attempts of getting up, a long sleep (my fiance was so patient) and 2 sweetmeal digestives and some coke...was right as rain. Discomfort started that evening and the travelling back wasn't easy...I won't lie. On the tram, then queuing for the plane I was sick and thought' God what have I done'.

Week 2 started feeling alot better. Recovery has been good but at the moment my left boob is alot bigger and sitting lower than my right. I have been concerned but the clinic have stressed to me this is perfectly normal and it will go down. I hope so!

My pics are up at picturetrail is you fancy a look

Hiya!

i had my ba on the same day as you with Dr. dedoncker, I must say that is hasn't been as painful as I thought it would be :p is just very uncomfortable and feel my chest very sore, but is feeling better and better each day.

I also got other pain killers, the paracetamol they gave me didnt work, nor the one you are supposed to take at night and that should make you feel drowsy. I am just taking neurofeen express and is working :P

Be strong, the pain wont last long and Im sure you'll be soon enjoying your lovely boobs lol thats why I try to think al the time

Hi

Firstly i must say a huge thankyou for your detailed account of what happened to you at Elyzea.
I am awaitig my consultation in London at the end of the month and am sooooooooooo sure i want this procedure completed.
I have been waiting and deciding about this for over 12 years but could not justify spending all that money at a London clinic.
Thank god i found Elyzea!!

I hope you dont mind me asking you a few question about your trip.
Here goes:
Where did you stay?
Did you fly home or go by train, recommendations please!!
You said that you needed stronger pain killers, which ones did you use?

Well i have purchased my hibbiscrub and arnica tablets and bought a support bra (guessed size).

Do you think i will need anything else apart from 3 days clothes and all the trimmings.

Thanks again

Charley x

PS Hope you feel well soon.

We stayed at the Ibis hotel, just opposite to Midi station as we took the Eurostar it was very handy and not too far from the clinic (5-8min drive)
I think if you live in London, you should take the train as it is not expensive and very smooth, just maybe recommend to take a cab home on your way back or have someone picking you up, I wouldn't consider taking buses or tube!

I bought nurofen as the Elyzea painkillers didnt do much, they worked better even though I wasn't in huge pain. I had to ask to the chemist first!

And about your bra, I was strongly adviced to get the one from Elyzea it was £40 (some girls have been charged £55) and they put you the right size(they had to try 2 dif sizes for me!) and when you wake up after the op you dont have to worry about. So maybe you can ask them.

About the clothes just take the most confy and waggy tops you can get also dont travel on your own, I felt quite useless as couldnt even open the door, it just feels like making a huge effort and aches lots.

when is your ba?? You know which dr ur going with?

Good luck! xx

I have my consultation at the end of this month, so i am not sure which surgeon it will be.
The support bra that i bought was just a spare for when the sugical bra needed a wash.

I will defo take strond Nuerofen with me.

Roll on the end of the month!!

I felt this way after my first op, good to hear you feeling better today.

Its good to hear some honest stories about BA's. Its not plain sailing for everyone ha ha.

You will feel much better after about day five, things ease off then. I remember lying down and having to swing my legs to get back up ha ha.

It is so worth all the discomfort and pain though.

I have a very high pain threshold and my implants felt like they were trying to escape ha ha.
"Thanks!"
Posted by k7myp 10 May  at  15:53

Good 2 hear I'm not the only 1 who felt so bad! Defo kno what u mean about them trying 2 escape. lol! Bring on day 5!
Deni- glad u r coping a lot better than me, im jealous! he he.
Charley- Course I don't mind, Elyzea are great and would def recommend them 2 any1, think I was just annoyed that my nurse didn't understand my pain! Lol. i stayed at the Hotel de Fierlant, it's one of the ones recommended by the clinic on their website. Its not the Hilton but the rooms were nice and inexpensive (think they give u slight discount if u tel them u going 2 elyzea as I did). The staff r very friendly & ordered us a pizza in on the nite of my op since didn't feel like going out!
I flew over as I live in Scotland so would have been too much hassle getting trains. Don't know where u live but I Flew with Ryanair(really cheap airline!) from Glasgow into Charleroi airport. It's not the main airport in Brussels so is smaller and quiter which I was very glad of on the return trip as avoided being bumped about! U can get shuttle bus direct from this airport right in 2 City centre tht comes every half hour then it was only 5 min taxi ride to my hotel.
My boyfriend just asked the chemist 2 give the strongest 1's possible that don't have aspirin (this thins the blood which ain't good when u have wounds obv)and he gave . I feel them working straight away when take them so I would def buy these beforehand 2 take with u.
Em I didn't take much else but if u want before and after pics 4 urself bring ur camera as I 4got to do this! And member to take zip up or button tops as if ur anything like me u wont b able to lift ur arms and comfy trousers that u can easily get up and down when going to toilet and so on. Hope this helped jus ask if need 2 know anything else!
Good luck with ur consult, Do u know which surgeon u r going to go 4? xx
