"Hope to see you there" Posted by goldenbrown1 16 June at 19:01
Hi Veronica
Hope you are feeling better today. Look I have my appoinment at 11.00 am but I will probably get there about 10.45am. If you want to meet up that would be great. I will be bringing my three kids with (all girls) me. Have you been to Elyzea's Manchester office before, do you know if they have a car part. I'm flying in from Ireland on 23rd then renting a car, visiting friends for the night and will be travelling from Wigan in the morning. After the appointment will be travelling to Wales (Llandudno). Going to see my mother for a weeks hols. Kids break up early in Ireland, my eldest daughter has 3 months holidays.
Let us know, could give you some back-up with regard to Dr Dedoncker and some moral support. Don't have to travel immediately to Wales so can give you some time.
xx Vicky

I think the clinic covers the surgery but you will be resposible for the flight and hotel, i asked this before i had my op just to be sure, that is why a lot of girls are put of by it because of that!! It was a chance i was willing to take though to save £2000!! Hope everything goes well for both of you X

well if the surgery is covered by them it puts my mind at rest, i was worried i would have to pay for 2 more ops. i live in dover so is only 2 hour drive and boat journey for me. x

"For v1981 and wannabe34dd" Posted by dlong83 11 June at 12:26
Hi guys,
I really feel for you both! I haven't had my BA yet but hope to have mine with Elyzea later this year.
V1981 - Why aren't you happy ewith your BA? Is it not what you asked for/did they do something wrong? If that is the case and their is some liability on their part i suppose they would be more inclined to foot to bill of the re-op - not sure about travel expenses tho??
Wannabe34dd - Same again, if you contracted the infection du to some fault on their part they should pay for the full costs i would expect.
This is just my opinion though. It must be so disappointing for you, i suppose we all know the risks but never really think about what it must be like when it doesn't go to plan. Hope it works out for you both!
D xx

"Hiya d" Posted by wannabe34dd 11 June at 14:21
I am not sure where i stand, i developed infection after 5 weeks through one of my stitches, as i wiped my scar the stitch came away and left a small hole. my consultant said it was just really bad luck. i am keeping everything crossed the infection will clear but even if it does i will confirm from surgeon who would be liable to pay what cost. i have searched back a year on this forum and cant find an answer, which is bizarre and i guess means i need to get a life (lol) thanks for your support to me and v1981, dont be put off elyzea, i continue to say in my opinion they are the best. my surgeon has been brill. anna x

hi veronica i have had an infection for 3 weeks, mr mouallem says if this last course of anti biotics dont work i have to go back for re-op (gulp), i was in such a state i didnt even think to ask about who foots bill for expense of op or anything else, so will be keen to see what reply you get to this post. x

"Gutted" Posted by v1981 14 June at 18:04
Hi Wannabe34dd
I am absolutely gutted. Bit of a nervous wreck when it comes to things like operations. Got myself there telling myself I would be fine - you tell yourself you won't be one of that small percentage that has probs but I guess I am.
my pics are up on picturetrail. Username v1981 pw. kiwi You can have a look at the changes. I was rather happy at 3 weeks, confident they were going to even out but they have settled 2 different sizes and heights.
(((((((
I'm off for consultation on 24th where I will let them have it. I went through this...in two minds should I or shouldn't I and feel I haven't had the experience all the other ladies have of enjoying them coz they just look odd!
I will say to anyone reading this...although I am unhappy with result...I could not fault Elyzea clinic and staff...they were so kind and caring and I will not worry going back to them. If you are scheduled with Dr Dedoncker...my advice DO NOT LET HIM RUSH YOU! He is a nice man but he was late for my consult and I got all of 5 mins with him before I was marked up ready for theatre. I now feel, if he had taken more time (bear in mind this was my first ever consult with a surgeon) then maybe this could have been avoided.

"Seen your pics - re appointment 24 june" Posted by goldenbrown1 14 June at 19:46
Hi Veronica
I've had a good look at your pics and I can see why you are unhappy. I wouldn't say they are bad at all, definitely not but I can definitely see a difference. I suppose in clothes you don't see the this but that's no consolation to you is it. I've met Dr Dedoncker and if I am honest I did not like the man one bit, he was very sharp and cold towards (he was angry that I came alone which he does have a right to be) me but I wouldn't fault him as a plastic surgeon he just does not have any time or courtesey for his clients which I think is unacceptable in this day and age. You could imagine it 40 years ago but not now.
Another thing I am suprised about is that Dr Dedoncker didn't say to you that your left breast was bigger than your right one to begin with and also a little more higher placed. Surely he could of rectified this by firstly putting more cc in your right one to even things out and also place the implant a bit lower on your right to make them a bit more level. If I can see this in your pics then why didn't he say anything. Saying all this I am no expert and maybe things will change. They do say that it can take 12 months before you get the finished results. They are still a big improvement to what you did have. Maybe they will do a re-op on your right breast to bring it to the same as your left. Do you want to go through it again and would you do the right one only or have them both done again. Try to stay positive, things can change and have you spoken to Dr Dedoncker about this?
I hope I have not been too honest, I don't want to upset you. I too have an appointment with Elyzea at Manchester on 24th June. Is this where you are having yours and if so what time are you booked in to see Sue or have you someone else?
I also had one breast larger than the other (right)before my op but I still had the same cc in both (another ps told me this and not Elyzea) plus my right breast was also lower places on my body than the left. Now after BA my right was is slightly bigger and is 1cm lower than my left but it doesn't really show on pictures.
You shouldn't of been rushed by Dr Dedonker what with this being your first consultation you should of had at least 30 minutes to go through everything. At the end of the day you paid good money and if you have not got the results you wanted then they have to put it right.

"Thankyou vicky" Posted by v1981 15 June at 21:22
Hi Vicky
Thankyou for your kind, supportive words.
Yes I am in Manchester also on the 24th - my consult is 11.15am.
Just disillusioned by everything...
I wish Dr D had taken more time and acknowledged the previous differences like you have seen. I'm wondering if my left has 'bottomed out'...its looks bottom heavy, feels very heavy and there is a feeling of pressure by my scar area. There is no feeling of any of this with the right so am wondering is this normal????
Anyway thanx again
I'll post a thread after the 24th with the outcome of the consult.
