Hi sarah,

I took mine off myself at about 9 days post op. I was still quite numb underneath so it didn`t hurt at all. I could feel the dressings peeling off but there was no pain with it at all. As long as you`re careful and don`t go whipping them off in one quick swipe (just in case there is a small amount of scab stuck to the dressing) you`ll be ok.

Hi Sarah,

For me the plasters really hurt I could have cried, but it wasn't sticky over my scars I had guaze covering that up so no problems there. My mum and me dampened down the dressings with a sponge and bit by bit I managed to remove them. My bandages were on very tight as the top and bottom had actually cut into me a little and as a result I had little blood spots.

Mum began to treat it like a plaster when your a kid and went to literally rip it off but as I screamed the house down - lol she decided to maybe use a different tactic!

You will love it once they come off - you feel so free! x

The sticky stuff wasn't on my scars, just the skin around it, and didn't hurt when it came off.

Hopefully yours will be the same.

Must say I didn't feel a thing, maybe cos I was numb but I had quite big scabs and they didn't come off.

I hate anything like this and I was so worried too. Went back 6 days post op worrying and came out wondering what I had made all the fuss about! You'll be fine x

I didn't feel it at all, it was such a relief as it was getting quite itchy.

I was a bit numb in that area so maybe that helped ha ha
"Dont worry!!"

I had mine changed at my 2 week check up with the nurse, I thought I had scabs underneath to because it felt raised underneath the plasters but there wasnt anything there.
Its no more painful than taking a plaster of a cut on your leg. Just grit your teeth hun, it'l be over in seconds

"My advice: take them off yourself sarah!"

I took my own off .... I couldn't bare the thought of anyone ripping them off .... and when I saw my ps, slightly after 3 weeks post op ... He said ... glad you've got them off ... I would have ripped them off anyway!!!

Just soak them a little first and then they should come off no problem

Honey, I ain't gonna lie to ya, it hurts like hell! I changed mine once before my 7 day check. the nurse gave me a fab tip - take them off in the shower - they peel off really easily then. i wish id have known this the first time i changed them! x
