Hi Lou, just read yur message, dont know if i can be of any help or reassurance but I hope this helps. I came off the pill 3 months ago and started trying for a baby. The past few months have been confusing to say the least. firstly yes it is theoretically possible to get pregnant straight after coming off the pill, I know 2 people who it happened to, and yes heavy period bleeding after coming off the pill is quite normal, your body is trying to get back into sync, this happened to me as well. As for the cycles, I too was a little confused at first, but having read everything i can get my hands on, you should count the first day of your period as day 1 of your cycle. Ovulation does not necessarily happen on day 14 particularily if u recently came off the pill, my first 2 ovulations off the pill happened on day 15,but yesterday i ovulated on day 18. It will take a while for your body to regulate itself after the pill. My best advice is to keep an eye on your mucus/discharge as this is the best clue, when it become slippery/watery this normally signals ovulation and is the best time to try. Hope this is of some help, i know what you are going through, last month i was totally convinced i was preg, had loads of symptoms, nausea, sore breasts ,dizzy spells and a delayed period but in the end i wasnt. My doc informed me that all these symptoms are quite common when coming off the pill as its the body adjusting. Keep your chin up, it helps me loads to think others are in this with me! hope my blabbing on has helped a bit xx
