| Thread started by: | "Off pill for one moonth... chances?" Posted by lexxihw 16 May at 13:36
HI every one, I'm new on here. I'm Lexxi, just about to get married, and trying for a baby!
I stopped taking the pill last month. I'd been on it for about 6 months after coming off the contraceptive injection (for 9 1/2 years). My period is due today and there's no sign of it yet. Far to early to tell if it's coming or not, I know, but I've not had any of my usual PMS or cramps in the run up, and I was wondering what the chances are of getting pregnant so soon after coming off the pill.
Any ideas?

I was on the pill for 6 years, my partner and I decided in May this year we wanted to try for a baby. I came off the pill in may and had the usual 4 day bleed. Found out I was pregnant at the begining of July, so i guess im one of those very lucky ones it happened straight away for.
Good luck to you all ttc xx

I was using the contraceptive injection as my form of contraception last year. I only had one dose which lasted for three months, then in January I decided not to have anpother one. My period didn't return for a few months, so I researched it on the internet. I found out that women who had used the contraceptive injection method found that their periods hadn't returned until 12-18 months later, therefore ovulation was not occuring. As my partner and I had decieded to try for a baby, this was devestating news, however my period returned last month and ovulation has resumed. Your period will come back, but it may take a while.
