hi ladies,
quick question, just trying to work out what my base temp should be on my bbt chart, have read alot of stuff which says that the normal base temp should be 37/37.5c however my temp is always alot lower than this. How do you work out what the base should be?,any help appreciated xxx

In my first month of charting my temperature stayed between 36.4 and then up to 36.8 during ovulation. This month by temperature has often been at 36.1 and am just about to ovulate so do not know how high it will go. I have always taken my temperature at the same time of the day and used the same thermometre.

So just carry on charting for a month or so - you will notice the important increases in temperature which are the sign of ovulation do not perhaps expect your temperature be the same every month

Take care

I don't think that there is a temperature that you should be at. The most important thing is that you take your temp first thing before doing anything and that it stays reasonably stable (give or take a few 0.1 of a degree) in the first half of your cycle and that then it dips down (day before ovulation) and then goes up significantly and stays up for the second half (from the day you ovulate).
My temperature 1st half is about 36.3 and second half goes up to 36.5 - 36.7 But sometimes it is higher than that.
"Thanks!"
