Hi,

I just wanted to share the information that I have just discovered.

My friend sent me a book "Guide to Getting Pregnant" and it's really interested. Basically (sorry if this is too much info) during your cycle your cervical secretions change, and the five or so days run up to ovulation, the secretions change dramatically, so it's up to you to get to know your body.

Class day 1 as the first day of your period. After , your period has finished, there won't be any secretions, you'll be dry, but after a couple of days the secretions are thick creamy/white, then it'll change to thinner white and increased in quantity. The next few days it will change to clear and elastic, prior to ovulation it should be totally clear and very stretchy (like raw egg white). After ovulation it will stop being stretchy and revert back to creamy and blobby. It will then be minimal til your period.

I know it's not very nice having to examine it, but it could be a very good way for us to see what's happening.

Also, I've been buying ov sticks. For the past 4 months, I haven't had a positive (I've had a faint positive). So I've been told that the LH surge which is detected by using the ov sticks may only last a few hours. Basically, LH is a hormone that stimulates the ovary to release an egg, so as soon as that has happened, LH stops and another hormone takes over to protect and nourish the egg. So, you may only get an LH surge for a few hours. I've been advised to use ov sticks 2 or 3 times a day.

Anyway, sorry for babbling on.

I hope this can help a few of you.....and me!!

Rachel x
