"Spotting or period in pregnancy"

I'm curious as to how often this happens... Has anyone experienced it? IDK We've been trying for a baby. And i've been spotting. I think it might be my period, but it's not like it usually is. And I'm showing pregnancy symptoms... That's why i'd like to know whatever you know on this topic. THANX!

it's hard to say what's happening with you cos don't know any details. Is your period late? Any idea when you ovulated? What symptoms are you experiencing and when did they start? Sorry for all the questions but it would be easier to help with more info. Is spotting unusual for you? Some women have something called implantation bleeding, usually just spotting and most women say it's more pink or brown than bright red. It happens when the egg implants in your womb in very early pregnancy, usually about 6-9 days after ovulation. Depending on your dates this might be what you've been having. Also some women spot or bleed right thru their pregnancies so just because you see blood doesn't mean you're not pregnant. Only way to tell for sure is to do a pregnancy test but your dates and symptoms might shed a bit more light. Fingers crossed for you,

all the best, Clare xx
"Spotting!"

Thanks Clare for putting your message up there this morning! I too am ttc, and my period is a couple of days late. I ovulated about ten days ago, and my boobs are really sore, but no sickness or anything. I have some spotting but no period. I tested a few days ago, but was neg! Anyway, someone who knows about these things is a big help!

This is so crazy! My body is showing najor preg symptoms such as.. growing breast, nips changed color, aaerolas changing color. I have a line going from navel to pubic area. My breats hurt quite a bit.My belly is stretching and belly button is about to pop ot and my doctor said ive oluated but im still having preg symptoms and just bleeding pink/brown blood for the past two to three months. I have taken preg tests all negative.

Emmy, I would test again anytime now, decent hpt could give you a positive now if you're 10 days past ovulation. Even if it's still negative, test again in another few days if still no proper period cos the hcg level can be too low to detect in very early stages. If in doubt see your doc, I know a bit about these things but no expert! Wishing you both all the luck in the world, take care,

Clare xx
"The details"

well... my last period was from the 8th-13th of july. the 17th my fiance and I started trying. we've had sex every day except for three(when he was in the field for training) up until now. one morning I woke up and I just "felt" pregnant. (this is before we decided to start trying) so we discussed what we would do if I was pregnant (cause he's leaving on deployment soon. such as: would we push the marriage and tie the knot b4 he leaves? that way me and the baby would be covered...) anyway, we decided to start trying. then I gradually started recognizing symptoms. like the fact I am SO tired lately. i have white discharge. and I'm constantly nauseaus, most of the time and have to force myself to eat. and I can smell everything a lot more clearly. I can actually smell people's personal cologne/perfume/soap if they're in my surroundings. and if someone smokes, and WHAT they smoke. menthol or regular. never used to be able to do that. + I'm constantly on he move for a "potty break" and I'm craving the weirdest combinations of food. like ramen noodles and oreos, or steak and rice with strawberry jam, or greenbeans with ranch and dill pickles...(yeah, i know...) anyway. during the past couple weeks i've had odd bleeding, one day I randomly had very light pink spotting. a few days later I had pink spotting again, but heavier. then yesterday morning (the 13th) I woke up and went to go pee (for the gazillionth time) and I noticed I had dark brown spotting. and it was light. the marks showed i'd been lightly spotting randomly all night. so i'm thinking it's my period? (i'm irregular) yet this is odd for me. normally when I get my period, it just comes. but the spotting is odd. so I put in a tampon, and the flow is very light. and it's red blood. but nothing like my period normally is. we took 3 e.p.t. tests and two said negative. yet, the second I took was a faint positive... Idk what's going on. is that enough details for you ? :P
thanx so much!

Hi again,

I would see a doctor, you can't keep wondering you need to know or it will drive you crazy! From your symptoms it sounds like you are to me but I'm not a doctor. They will be able to do a blood test which is more accurate than urine and then you'll know for sure.

Spotting is really common in early pregnancy, not sure you're meant to use tampons if you're pregnant tho so might be best to stick to pads. Let us know how you get on,

love, Clare xx
