you might benefit from looking up a website that calculates your expected ovulation date for you. It can do this by you entering your cycle length and start of last period. If you don't fancy that or think the SME plan is complicated, you could try to have sex every other day after day 8 of your cycle until after you ovulate. Day one of your period is the first day you see red blood.
I understand the other comment that some people find the use of fertility monitors and sticking to plans unnecessary but some of us aren't lucky enough to have regular sex and get pregnant that way so we use these things to give us the greatest chance of conception.
