"Did i have a miscarriage?"
Posted by bnl33 18 September  at  18:53

Could any one give me some advice on weather or not i may have had a miscarriage?
I bleed heavily on the due date for my period, and had very weak cramps.in this time a small clot did come out,
I then i had irregular spotting for a week and a dark discharge for a few days which has now stopped..
I did a pregancy test which was positive.. the doctor said its to early to tell if it was a miscarriage and that i will have to wait till my next period is due..he said its more than likely that i am still pregnant and that its my body telling me i need to slow down and look after myself or i will miscarry..
I cant stand not knowing if i am still pregnant or not i dont know weather to feel happy that i am pregnant or sad coz i lost the baby...can anyone help?

Hi guys xx thanks for your advice ..i was checking back every 5 mins last night ..lol
so the update:
My mate insisted i go to to early pregnancy assessment unit today dispite what the doctor said and i she was right to make me go..i feel like i cant trust my GP after this..the unit did a number of tests..and it turns out i didnt miscarry but i do have a abnormally high level of progesterone (the pregnancy hormone) they now want to keep a close eye on the baby and i have to go back friday morn for further examinations its to early to see if the baby is ok but im def still pregnant its also a possibility that its an eptopic pregancy..

I'd see if you can see another doctor at your surgery from now on hun, especially as you no longer trust the one you have been seeing, and rightly so. Sounds to me like you've had a dose of the famous NHS treatment towards pregnant ladies ie lack of interest.

I hope everything goes ok. Keep us posted. I've got everthing crossed for you.

Love

Sarah. xx

I'm so glad you managed to get seen, good on your mate. Know it's not conclusive good news yet but at least someone's doing something and you don't have to feel so helpless. Best of luck for friday hun,

much love, Clare xxx

what a horrible situation to be in, my heart goes out to you. I've had 3 m/c's and agree with Lisa that you would normally expect more pain and bleeding than you describe so don't give up hope. There's just no way of knowing for sure and I know how agonising the waiting is but all you can do is look after yourself and hope for the best. How long til you're due next? Will be keeping everything crossed that all will be well, let us know how you get on.
Lotsa love, Clare xxx

Ive had 2 miscarriages, both involved far more blood and clots of a period of time. The first one I bled for 2 weeks, the second for 2 days (continuous bleeding with heavy clots). I had a lot of pain with both.

Hopefully everything is fine. Remember, your body does a lot of adjusting in pregnancy. My nan and my mother had normal periods during their pregnancies so maybe thats a factor to.

Dont give up hope.

Sarah. xx
