My partner and I have been trying for a baby for 10 months now.

I was not due to come onto my period for another week and a couple of days. This morning I woke to stomach cramping and had leaked some really dark blood whilst in my sleep.

I don't really know what to think, as it could be my period coming early or it could be a miscarriage, can anyone give me any advice?

Thank you

It just could be that if you are pregnant it was implantation bleeding which will happen around about the time your period is due. I think that a docs visit is agood idea I would also be tempted to ask him to do a blood test to test the level of beta hcg. good luck and let us know how you go.

How was your period last month? Was it normal? If so then you would probably only have ovulated a bout a week ago and so a pregnancy test would be too early and therefore probably negative.

Implantation bleeding can occur about now however it's normally light red/pink or brown as opposed to dark red, it normally only lasts a day or 2. I have however decided that the human body is a total mystery - no 2 women are the same. Are you still bleeding?

In short, if your period was very light or almost non excistant last month I would try a test. If it was normal I would wait and see what happens when your period is due. If you're still bleeding it could be that you've had a really short cycle and this is your period.

I'm no doctor and I pick most of this stuff up from experience, reading or talking to people so if you do have any worries, go to your DR for piece of mind.

I hope this helps hun.

Sarah. xx

Thanks Sarah!

Well my period was very different to what it has been for the last 9 months! It was pretty light and only lasted about 2 days!

I have booked an appointment to go and see my GP this evening as there are many things this could be. I just hope its not a miscarriage.

Thank you for your reply anyway xxx
