Hi there, i had a complete m/c 26/11/07. Had a scan last Thurs - all clear so didn't need D&C. This week still losing bloody stuff but mostly brown and some black tissue. I also noticed that in the last few days it was a bit smelly(sorry this is horrendously gross!). Doc put me on 2 lots of antibiotics which I started yesterday so hopefully it will clear up fast.
What I don't understand is if the scan said all the pregnancy had gone then why have I now got infection, what is infected and does it affect fertility?? I was wide awake till 4 this morning worrying! It feels like a nightmare that will never end!

After i delived my little boy i couldn't have the placenta as i was only 14 weeks. So i had a D&C i also got an infection after i know it's not nice but as far as i know it doen't affect fertility. I got told that even though they had got everything out sometimes as thay put there instruments up they can take bacteria from the outside of you inside and thats what can cause an infection. i had a week of horiable antibiotics and now physicaly i'm fine mentally i don't think i will ever be.

sorry to hear your sad news i hope your coping ok and it will make you stronger. i had an infection after one of my mscgs id got to 11 weeks and woke up bleeding LOTS, i had scan they said all had come away. i went home the day after but after a week or so i noticed the smell its not nice but it happens its cuz its so damp down there and having a bath and when they check ect germs spread and its imposs to stop it happening but dont worry the anti biotics should work and it wont affect you trying again.
