Hey there, I m/c 5 weeks ago, bled for 2 weeks and had antibiotics for infection then was fine. I had half a days period on Sat 22nd Dec then nothing till last Thurs where AF arrived with a vengeance and I'm still bleeding really heavily now, having to change my towel every 2 hours. It's draining me a bit and i was just wondering if anyone else had experienced something similar. I expected my periods to be different after m/c but this is horrendous and i feel like it's never going to end. After being initially glad that AF arrived cos i felt normal again i now wish she'd ... off cos its a big fat reminder that i'm no longer pregnant.
Sorry to ramble on, tried to keep it short but i'm a waffler! Happy new year to all of you, wishing everyone health and happiness in 2008, Rach x x x

I'm a waffler too so prepare yourself! I'd see your GP if I was you, just to be on the safe side, could well just be after-effects of the m/c but it could also be that you still have some tissue left in your womb, hence the infection, and now your body is trying to flush it out. Having to change every 2 hours is pretty heavy blood-loss really and I'm not surprised you're feeling drained, get yourself an emergency appointment at the docs as soon as they re-open after the holiday and keep an eye on how you feel tonight and tomorrow. Any major developments, increase in bleeding, light-headed, really not feeling well and I'd pop down to A&E just to be sure. Not trying to scare you, it may well just be a very heavy period, not uncommon for the first one after m/c, but we women tend to soldier on regardless and downplay how bad we feel so just think you need to be careful. Hope you're ok, let me know how you get on.
Lotsa love, Clare xxx

Thanks for reply and Happy New Year, you confirmed what i was thinking really but just needed to hear someone else say it cos don't want to make a fuss and although she's lovely, really don't want to see my GP again for a while!
Might be wrong but it does seem to have eased off today so fingers crossed that's the worst of it over and I can try and start 08 on a positive note instead of miserable, feeling sorry for myself and sick of bloody bleeding note!!
Hope you enjoyed New Years and here's to some BFPs
Rach x
