Whole thread for the following message:

Hi,
I had a m/c about 7 weeks ago (you could refer to the post "Pregnancy after Miscarriage"). Yesterday I had my follow-up appointment with my gynae. He told us that the blood results showed that I have what is called Antiphospholipid Antibodies. These antibodies cause blood clots in the placenta which means there's no blood flow to the baby.
Knowing the cause helps a tiny bit. At least now I can have some closure.
Thanks to everyone for your kind words.
Kay.

I m/c in October and have been told I have exactly the same thing.
Have been on low dose aspirin now since 22nd January - watch out, you will find that you will bruise incredibly easily - I look like a giraffe with my patchy skin!
You are right that knowing the cause helps - at least you don't keep on blaming yourself.
I have also been told that the chances of a successful pregnancy are really good with proper monitoring, and that if the condition had gone undiagnosed then it would be 95% certain that i would miscarry again.
Best of luck

Hi Kay,
I just wanted to say hope you're doing OK. Like you say it's nice to have some answers but it's always tough going over things again. I wish I knew why I miscarried incase I'm setting myself up for the same fall again. Have they said what they can do can treat this and help you along next time?
Wishing you all the best, Love N xx

The doc prescribed low-dose aspirin. He said it helps with the thinning of the blood and if I keep taking them before and throughout pregnancy, the chances of carrying a baby full term are pretty high.
