I always come onto this forum as I have lost three babies of my own (currently pregnant with number 4 and our first.)

Intercourse - my doctor advised that due to my history of repeat miscarriage to avoid intercourse until 13 weeks. It is not the intercourse that can cause miscarriages but rather the 'figorous' nature in which intercourse is achieved. That being said, practitioners will tell you there is no danger from intercourse.

Abortion - is a different story and there is evidence to suggest that previous abortions can cause complications for the embedding of future pregnancies. There is no solid, concrete evidence of this it is all just 'this study has SHOWN ...'

Hope this helps. Easier said than done I know but you cannot blame yourself for a miscarriage as there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO PREVENT IT! It will happen for you. Trust me - I was told on the 5th Nov 07 I would most likely not be having any children and whoops! January 2 I was seven weeks gone!

Best of luck

Hiya hun,
Im not sure about abortion but intercourse seems to have made a difference in my 1st m/c (im currently having my second) after making love the cramps seem to start up & the next day the cramps got worse then the bleeding started. Im not sure if this happened to anyone else, were all different, the nurses assured me when they scanned me that 2 m/c can be put down to pure bad luck has the sonographer herself had 2 consecutive m/c then went on to have 2 healthy girls. I know after the 3rd they will look into tests BUT the EPU near me says sometimes they dont even do that if you've carried a healthy baby to term prior to the m/c's if it was within 5 years! Which I have, but weve stopped trying now either way.

All the best for any future pregnancies for you & I hope you & DP get the family you want soon!

Love Hellen xXx
