"First period after evac"

Hi guys

Just a quick one and not sure if this is the correct board but am hoping someone can help. I'm having my first period after m/c (EVAC) in Jan 08 which is 11 wks ago and I was 11 wks pg - I am in the most unbearable pain - almost as bad as labour. I had a m/c (EVAC) in 2004 before the birth of my son in 2005 and the pain was like a normal period (which are quite bad) but this is a joke. I have a sharp pain in the left side as well as cramping and when I do #2 the pain is really bad too. I feel like crap and as normal hubby just doesn't understand! Feeling really teary too which is weird!

Anyone else had bad pain like this after m/c or EVAC?

Thanks
Bea

hiya hun,
im not sure ill be much help tbh but ill try. I had a natural m/c in jan & got caught pregnant 2 weeks later, im now having my 2nd m/c & am having the d&c very soon (i get my date 2rw) but I cant really comment on 1st periods afterwards.

This may sound crazy but with it being 11 week since you evac is there ANYWAY at all that you got caught pregnant again since then & this could be another m/c or ectopic? my sis had ectopic & didnt know she was pregnant, she said she thought it was a period but the pain got unbearable. Maybe its worth doing a test? Just to be on the safe side.

From what ive heard from other ladies the 1st period after D&C can be heavy, painful & even have clots with it but like I say I havent had this experience myself, maybe its worth calling NHS direct if the pains are really so bad.

Has for your hubby I know where your coming from, my fella is a little like that too, not that he isnt an angel when it comes to my m/c's etc but when it comes to normal periods hes not quite has on the ball. Men eh? bless them.

I hope your feeling better soon hun. all the best
Hellen xXx
