I'm 6 weeks pregnant with my first. I had some bleeding that was more than spotting but not nearly as much as my normal period. I went to the Dr and they did some test and my HCG level was 26,699 on wednesday 3/14, which my dr said was normal. I went back today 3/16 to have my levels re-tested and Im at 37,500. I think this is good. I had my first ultrasound done on tuesday 3/13 and they weren't able to hear a heartbeat yet, but they think I might only be at 5 weeks. I'm still having a little bleeding and I've been having some slight cramps. I'm hoping Im just over-reacting I just need some reassurance....

Well were to start. My 1st pregnancy I had some spotting for about 7 days. The took an ultrasound only to find I had an ectopic pregnancy. The ultrasound they did was were they actually put it up inside me and found the baby in my tube. I had surgery to remove the tube and about 7 months later I became pregnant again. I had an ultrasound at about 6 1/2 weeks and they could see a sac but no baby. I went back about 2 weeks later and luckily they saw a heartbeat, which is rare for being that far along. Usually they say they don't see any heartbeat until about 10 weeks. Anyway my hcg levels were low. I gues they are suppose to double every 2 or 3 days. Anyway they gave me progesterone suppositories twice a day because I was making enough progesterone, which is what your hcg levels are. So without that medicine they said I would have miscarried. I would check it out.

If you had the type of ultrasound I did than I assume they know the baby is not in your tube. Therefore if you were worrying about an ectopic because I mentioned it, I wouldn't because they would have seen it on the ultrasound. They would not mess around if you have an ectopic!
