"Cysts??"

Had my final scan today after m/c and they confirmed all the tissue is gone and I can start ttc again.

This is a relief as last m/c ended with ERPC. I was hoping not to have to do that again.

But they did mention there was a small cyst (not part of the lining) but it was nothing to worry about.

Has anyone else had this? What is it? Can it cause problems?

I have just come out of hospital after having ERPC after missed m/c at 12 weeks (lost the baby at 9+2) 5 weeks ago. I originally had medical management but carried on bleeding for 5 weeks and after another go at the medical management for 3 days in hospital i finally had ERPC.

The scan showed I had a small cyst on my ovary so need to go back to hospital in 3 months for follow up scan, the docs said it should go away on its own but if it gets painful or is still there in 3 months they will remove it, they told me not to ttc until the scan (which really upset me).

The doctors said that the cyst can form after the egg is released then fertilised and the cyst then releases pregnancy hormones and it is stiil there for some reason and hasnt gone away again after the m/c. I was worried about it but they have assured me that it is very common to have ovarian cysts but most women dont even know they have them and they usually bust and go away painlessly on thier own but can grow large and cause abdominal pain or pain when they bust and you can need antibiotics or surgery to remove them but this is rare.

Hope this helps xxx

That does help.

When they mentioned it I was too focused on the fact the m/c was complete and forgot to ask questions.
