Been for a scan today as still bleeding- diagnosed with SCH last Monday.
Should feel reassured, DON'T! The baby was fine (11 wks +6) but the haematoma was larger than last week (and as far as I can work out, on the opposite side to last week). They did not tell me how large but I saw 47 mm written on the piece of paper, but couldn't see the other measurements.
The sonographer also said it may have been a twin pregnancy and that was what was coming away (although the amount of scans I have had, surely they would've seen that before now?). She did say that it was still relatively small compared to the pregnancy sac.
The doctor didn't give me any indication whether this increased my miscarriage risk, which I am so paranoid about. I then asked if the further the pregnancy gets, the less it is a problem, which she didn't respond to, just smiled.
Is it bad that it is getting bigger? Did they miss the main patch of bleeding last week and saw a smaller one?
I just want to be able to chill out and relax. Bleeding is less( brown and a bit stringy, like my discharge is stained with blood sorry tmi) but sometimes is red and a bit more.
Thank you to peeople who have responsed- this site keeps me (a bit) sane!

Oh hun, sounds like you've come away with just as many questions as before you went... they don't seem to have explained things very well again
I'm not going to be much help on the size thing and the fact it seems to be on the other side, but looking at the positives; baby is fine (main thing), 47mm although bigger than last week is still small (hopefully you saw my other post about my friend who had one 8cm x 5cm). Colour wise, mine was always bright red so try not to worry about that.
How have they left you - are you going back for another scan soon?
My understanding aswell from when I had mine was that if they were concerned about it, they put you on bed rest, so if no-one has mentioned that to you then that's also encouraging.
This pregnancy lark just seems like a rollercoaster for some of us, I wish I could have breezed through it but I've had the big episodes of worry like you too. Try to cling to the positives though, esp as you get into the 2nd trimester which is a big milestone(which again, I know will be easier said than done after last time).
Love N xx

Been to see my lovely consultant today- he said it is "significant" as it is bigger than last week but as he said, scans cannot say if old or new blood. He said baby fine, and as long as pain free, the bleeding is not likely to be a problem. It is near the placenta but not actually on it at the moment, am playing the waiting game. He told me to get signed off work (I'm a secondary school teacher, so very stressful) and the further the pregnancy goes on, the better the outcome is likely to be. AS it is near to the cervix, he said it is better that the blood can come out without creating a build up behind the pregnancy. Problem is if your uterus notices there is bleeding and starts trying to empty. Have a scan every week for the next two, so am going to take it easy and just pray. Although not religious! Hard thing is, if this pregnancy ends, the baby is actually fine. Last one didn't develop properly, so it is a bitter pill to swallow. Thanks for your help- the best advice and help I've had is on this site!!! Thanks Helenxxxxxx
