| Thread started by: | "Miscarried yesterday 8th may need advice" Posted by stumpy1977 9 May at 20:47
I was told I had a threatened Miscarriage on Sat as I had some brown blood when I wiped but no sooner it arrived it disappeared so I thought that I might be in with some luck but unfortunately I started to bleed yesterday at work and so went to the docs who confirmed that I had lost the pregnancy as my HCG level was only 10 and he expected around 400 to be positive.
I already have a 3.5 year old son and found him hard work that is why I thought I'd leave it until he was a little older before I started trying again, So I know that I can have a pregnancy just not this one.
What I'm really asking now is how long should I wait before I try again, I have been told straight away, leave it until you've had your next period and even 3 months, is there a right time???
Can anybody offer any advise??? Any replies would be most appreciated. Thank you

I too suffered a miscarriage last Nov at 11wks with my 1st pregnancy. Different medical people who I spoke to all said different things, one said wait until your 1st period, one wait 3 months the other saying we could start trying strait away ! I waited until after I had a period, after only 2 (shorter than normal) periods I found out I was expecting again. All is going well so far, I am now 16wks+3days. Had my 1st scan & it was such a relief that all was well.
A lot of friends kept saying that following the D&C op it would be much easier to get pregnant, & they were right.
I have also read about women who get pregnant again without even having a period.
Just do what you feel is right for you.
Good luck. cathxxx

hiya first just wanted to say sorry for your loss. i miscarried myself on 5 april at 6 1/2 weeks, i got told by my consultant that it would be ok to start trying as soon as a felt ready. i had stopped bleeding by the 8 april so we started to try then.
the consultant told us that the only real reason why some doctors tell you to wait is so that their can date the pregnancy more accurately. i think its different depending on how far along the pregnancy was though aswell.
anyway i hope this helps, and fingers crossed for both of us!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi there,
I am afraid to say that i know all too well how you are feeling. I have had two miscarriages over the last 4 months one in Dec. at 10 weeks and one in april at 3 weeks.
It does get easier with time. I was told to wait until i had one period after the bleeding to start again. I got pregnant the very next month but then miscarried again.
They say that it only takes a month for your body to be in condition again, sometimes it is the heart and mind that takes more time to mend.
Thinking of you and take care.
p.s. hope to be have a healthy pregnancy this time baby dust to all.
