im aprox 7 weeks pregnant started bleeding friday and still on sunday went hospital gynae said cervix was closed got scan tues hoping for the same let me know how u get on good luck xx

Hi - i am just looking for someone who might have been through something similar.

My first pregnancy was twins and they were born healthy, although I did have some bleeding around 6.5 weeks. My second pregnancy started off as twins but by 3 months there was only 1 viable baby. I have been trying for 3.5 years to get pregnant again (I am 41!) and am now 6.5 weeks pregnant. I started bleeding on Friday, very lightly and this got heavier yesterday, with some small clots. Today I have been for a scan and they tell me baby only looks 5 weeks so they can't get heartbeat this early. I am going back in 10 days for another scan. So far they say the blood I have lost is from the lining of the womb and they can see the pregnancy is still intact and the cervis is ripe. My only hope is that perhaps this also was a twin pregnancy and that i still end up with one baby, but i do worry that as I have had some clots this is unlikely. Has anyone had anything similar - some hope perhaps from a threatened miscarriage?

Any advice, help gratefully received please? Jan

JUST WONDERED HOW THINGS WENT AM GOING THROUGH SOMETHING VERY SIMILAR MYSELF WITH VERY SIMILAR SYMPTOMS I HAVE NOT BEEN THROUGH IT MYSELF BEFORE AND THIS IS MY FIFTH BABY. CAN YOU HELP

i am in a similar situation, but not twins. i went for a vaginal scan at 6+2 wks and they put me back to 5 wks after seeing no hb or fetus. i have had blood tests and these aren't conclusive either, so another scan on thurs. i did have a threatened m/c with my first and she was born healthy, but i had a m/c in nov as well, so i can't offer much help. did u have a vaginal scan, as they wouldn't see much at 6 wks from an abdominal scan anyway? i hope everything goes well. try to stay positive, not very easy, and let us know how it goes.

Yes I had a vaginal scan as well. They could see the sac but no heartbeat and said it was the size of a 5 week old fetus. I was just wondering what prompted you to go for a scan - did you have some bleeding? Good luck for Thursday - let me know how you get on. Do you mind me asking - when you had your threatened miscarriage did yo lose much blood?

i went for a scan with this preg because i was having brown discharge when i wiped. i went for a scan with my oldest daughter because of spotting. was about 7 wks then and saw a hb. i did bleed quite a bit with her, really worrying, but she was fine. yet, with my m/c i just had brown spotting. i have made a promise to myself in the future NOT to have any early scans (under 9 wks) as they can't see much and it's not a great help!!
thurs such a long way off!
