Hi, Am new to this forum.
I have recently suffered a missed miscarriage and had to have an erpc (d&c)on 8/6/07. I went for a scan at 9 wks afer going to my GP worried that i had stopped feeling pregnant. The scan showed that i had an empty sack 5wks 6dys old. I had a scan 10 days later to confirm the results and also started to bleed in the time between the scans. My self and my husband were devistated, it was our first baby. I stopped bleeding fri 15/6/07 after the erpc and my breasts have returned to their pre pregnancy state, so i am hoping this means my hormones are returning to normal. I am now hoping that i will get my period in the next 3-4 weeks. But i cant stop wandering if the erpc could effect me concieving, even though the dr's said it went well and there is very little risk to my future pregnancies. Also wandering if it sounds like my hormones may be returning to normal.
Can i have some opinons, thanks x x

i had a missed miscarriage last year and also had the erpc. i was about 8 weeks pregnant and when i went for my scan the baby had no heart beat absoluteley devastated as it was my first pregnancy too. i too have wondered whether the erpc could affect future preganacies, but i'm sure it would'nt be a procedure they would carry out if it was going to cause problems.you'll probably find your hormones will be all over the place for a while,after all you've been through a traumatic experience i think my hormones are still a bit all over the place probably because i would have been due two weeks ago

I suffered a misscarriage in January with my first pregnacy also, everyone knows the risk of misscarrying but I dont think anyone can quite prepare themself for what they are going through.
I also had a D&C and I bled for approx 5 weeks after, eventually I had to go on the pill to get my cycle ad hormones back to normal again which worked but for obvious resons wanst really what I wanted to do in case in the long term slowed me down in falling pregnant again!
Anyway here I am 5 months later and am pregnant again!
I'm so scared the same is going to happen again but if its going to happen then there isnt a thing I can do about it, I am young and healthy so fingers crossed nature will be kind to us this time.
Dont loose hope, a D&C doesnt effect your chances in conceiving again.

I am now 22 weeks pregnant after suffering a miscarriage with my 1st pregnancy last November. I like you had a D&C & was told by friends that it will help, because my inside of the womb was raw like, apparently the fertilised egg has a better chance of implanting itself. It must have been right because I soon got pregnant again after 2 periods ! so good luck to you, I'm sure you'll have no problem concieving again. xxx
