I had a missed miscarriage 8 weeks ago. A devastaing experience. My husband and I are really wanting a baby we had a D & C 8 weeks ago and I have not yet had a period. Does anyone know what it could be and why I am taking so long to get it. I have taken a pregnancy test (1) over a weeks ago and it was neg. I am very healthy. I have noticed some cervical mucus the past week but still nothing. I have had a few cramps here and there but nothing else.(I usually don't get a lot of cramps anyway before my period) I spoke with my doc and he was surprised that I had not gotten it yet but to try the "wait & see" way. Wait & see for how long? Has anyone had this happen. I am open to any comments. They would be helpful.

I only saw this today so things may have changed for you. I also suffered from a missed miscarriage in December 2005 and had a D & C. I am sorry for your loss. I did not get a period again for 4 months. I hope it encourages you to know that my husband and I were so fortunate to get pregnant again soon after and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in December 2006. She came a month and a half early but was healthy. I wish you all the best.

i to had a missed miscarriage 8 months ago as you said a devastating experience and one which i've found quite hard to deal with. if i remember correctly i had problems with my periods afterwards,i think it's mainly due to what your body has just been through and will take time to get back into a regular pattern again, mine still are not brilliant and i've also gone back on the pill and they still are not back to normal. just give your body time to adjust again and let things get back to normal, if your still concerned go back to your docs.
