| Thread started by: | "Miscarriage - desperate for some advice" Posted by becca106 5 July at 12:12
I have posted a few times over the last few days but now I am just getting desperate for some advice or reassurance, I cant sleep i am so scared that I wont ever be able to have children. I have now had 3 miscarriages, in a row and am now being referred to a gyno which I am pleased about becuase I want to know if there is something wrong but I just cant stop worrying that I wont ever have a succesfull pregnancy. I dont understand why this keeps happening I do everything as I should and it still happens, the first time I thought it was just bad luck but now I jut dont know what to think.
Has anyone else had recurrent miscarriages and can tell me how they coped or what tests they have had.
I really need to understand and to be able to put my mind at rest.

Hi there ive had 4 misses so know exactly how you feel. after my second mis i went private for tests they found i have sticky blood and prescribed baby asprin when i next conceived. i did this but lost again. they did more test on nhs and found i had a raised amount of natural killer cells, the test is still in research so dont know if your hospital will do it. its now 14 months on and just found out im pregs again (5 wks) and i am goin for scan next week when they will start me on steriods to reduce the level of nk cells, then i will have to start fragmin or heprin for my sticky blood. hope this time it continues. ask about stick blood and nk cell test this my be the problem take care xx

I have only had one miscarriage which was an awful time and i'm very early into my new pregnancy. It isnt going quite as it should but I'm keeping hopeful.
My mother however, lost 3 pregnancies before successfully carrying my brother and I. There was nothing medical, unfortunatley it was just one of those things. I dont know wht tests she had (it was over 30 years ago) but when she helped me through my miscarriage she told me that she caught and carried me when she stopped worrying about it. She said she'd decided that it probably wasnt going to happen and it was when she stopped stressing it just happened.
My friend has just had the same thing after losing 2, she's at 12 weeks now and fell pregnant on holiday when she least expected it.
I guess part of what makes a successful pregnancy is not making it the main focus in your life, staying calm and trying not to worry about it. Its easy to say but I'm sure there's truth behind it.
I really hope it all works out for you. Sorry I cant be more help.
Sarah. xxx
