Hi

Im new to this forum..as never thought i wud ever be in position of having abortion but hey I am.

Found out last sunday I was pregnant, after an accident with a condom and the mornign after pill didnt work. I was shocked. I already have 2 children and am a single parent. ( my ex left me after 8 years when my youngest was 3 mths old) have a lovely new boyfriend but its only bin 4 weeks. To be honest I feel cheated to be in this positon anyway as I always use protection and even did the morning after pill. I knew straight away a aboriton was the way to go, and although I am not happy with it.. mainly due to guilt of the whole bin brought up to think its wrong... I know its right for me. However I am scared by what I am to face for the procedure.

Any advice would be greatly received....

P.S sorry for going on but this is first place I ve actually had chance to put things down!!! Hope people understand that. I can be contaced on memphis_meatball@hotmail.co.uk of anyone wants to get in touch

I never thought I'd be in this position either, I'm well aware of all the precautions I'm supposed to take and so on but here I am, feeling like I', staring down the barrell of a shotgun (slightly melodramatic- blaming the hormones!)

Can't really give any advice but thought i'd give a bit of support...This is the first and only place I've told people (except my boyfriend, obviously) and I'm pretty worried about the procedure too. I'm also finding it hard to be going through so many changes and emotions and not being able to discuss it with my friends (admittedly, that's my choice) so feel free to contact me so we can freak out together!

Sure you'll make the right decision for you. Good luck.

Ultimately it is your life and your body .. never let anyone give you advise when really all they are doing is guilting you into doing what they thing is 'right'

You know in your heart what you want to do, follow that and that is all you can do

Take care honey, whatever decision you make is the right one for you and your future

Hi there Memphis

You do what YOU feel is the best decision for you and your family - whether it be to continue with the pregnancy or terminate. Termation isnt nice but you clearly didnt want to fall pregnant after the precautions you took. PM me if you want to chat - the unknown is always scary but you will be OK babe, whatever you decide

take care

Hi memphis,

Can you not see that inspite of protection, and even the morning after pill that this child really has a firm hold on life?. Can you find any way to love it aswell as your other two children?. I get that you feel cheated to be in this position, as the current mode of thought is that if you use protection then you dont have to bear the consequenses of having sex. Of course this is not true. You dont feel responsible, but you are, and so is the father. I know this is not what you want to hear, you say that abortion is right for you, but it cant be right for your child, can it?.

Your parents taught you that life is precious, no matter how young, and it is. How sure are you that this is right for you?

Lots of questions, please think a bit longer about the answers, for your own sake aswell. You are stronger than you think, and Im sure you coped very well with being a single mom.

Love

Siobhan
