5 months is not long at all and once you have sex, that's all your relationship is going to be about. If he cared about you, he would keep dating you and wait until he can make a commitment to you before having sex. Having sex before marriage usually means breakup soon after. Don't let him take advantage of you!

You're so lucky to find such a genuine guy, but a bit of reassurance is all that he needs. Maybe you should try making the firat move.

I think it's great that he respects you like that but it all depends on how old you both are, if you really know what you want then you should go for it but just don't be too pushy or forward.
