Eyebrow waxing gone wrong---help!

Hi there,

I had my eye brows waxed and the beautician has pulled off layers of my skin which made it very sore and now scabby. It is about 2 inches long, I went back and they said I must be allergic to the wax. But the other eye is fine. I went to the pharmacy and they said I am not allergic they have just been too rough with my eye. Just wondered how long do you think it will take to heal, and how can I complain properly?

thanks Jacsue

Eyebrow waxing..me too!!

Hi Jacsue

The same happened to me, and with the worst eye the girl delayed taking the wax off so it had cooled. People thought I had been punched or had open the car door into my eye. I now, after a month have two areas of dark pigmentation where the scabs have come off, although trying to reduce this with bio-oil. The manager said I may be allergic to the wax which is rubbish, I had my upper lip done too and no reaction there, my eyebrows were raw!! He offered a free treatment i said I want my nice skin back!! I have a meeting with the owner of the salon..next week..so if you have found out what should be expected from a beauty salon that makes such a mistake, this please would you let know : ) has yours scarred?

best wishes Lis

Hiya, im really sorry to hear bout the incident, im a qualified beauty therapist, just a question, did the beautican apply the wax more than once to your eye? if she did then she was in the wrong as wax must only be applied once, if she only applied it once then perhaps she didnt pull the skin properly, however she is stil wrong as she injured you, Go back to the salon, tell them you looked into it further as to whether u are allergic, tell them ur not so it must have been somethin wrong, give them a complaint in writing and ask for a refund. hopefully u'll get one, u should pick a busy time to go, they wont want to make a scene!!! its all bout image!! hope this helps, let me know how u get on
