Dove: campaign for real beauty

...I think this is an important campaign, but that Dove have taken on a big issue here. Trying to change people's natural perceptions of beauty is very difficult.

This is what one person wrote on the discussion board:
"There are distinct looks that make a person unattractive. It's science, we can't train society to see something and associate it to be beauty. Maybe for a short period of time, but it will not last. Like a trend. Don't flaunt the unconventional looks, it makes the campaign look foolish."

What do you think? Are we pre-programmed to find some faces more attractive than others?

I don't think i am

pre-programmed, for me somebody can be beautiful even if for other persons he or she is not good-looking. It depends what comes out of her or him and if I feel attracted by his/her whole self, not just the appearance, beauty is not only visual.

I know it's not only visual...

...but don't you think that when you see a face in a crowd, you make an instinctive judgement on whether or not it is attractive?
Maybe without realising it.
