Sensitive skin

Hi,
Have dry, fair skin which has suddenly gone really sore and red on my cheeks. This normally only happens in the sun, so am thinking maybe it's the cold weather, snow etc we've had recently. Not really sure how to deal with it, apart from slathering cream on (I also used a new moisturing mask last night, which may have sauced it) - does nayone know if there are certain foods that sensitive-skinned people can eat which will help?
Is it possible to develop eczema in your twenties?!
thanks

Rosacea?

I had similar symptoms and was diagnosed with rosacea. Maybe you should check on that. What works for me is not to use oil based creams. I wear water based cream (La Roche Posay Toleriane) because if it has oli in it my skin gets really red and sore. Weather really affects me, especially exposure to the sun and dry weather. Its good to spray Thermal water on your face too, even if wearing makeup.
Good luck!

Hi

i no how you feel i ust to suffer from eczema sore cheeks you can get eczema at any age the best thing to do is keep your face out of the sun, the cold weather can affect you skin just wash your face as normal (no soap to be used) use dove it is not that harsh on the skin and always put sensitive cream on nothink ealse and maybe go to a beautie salon and get a faceual it worked for me also you dont need to go on a dietry sceem try and eat 5 peices of fruit mostly the 1s with vitamin A such as apples, kewis and oranges if you dont like fruit try vitamin A tablets i hope you get it sorted soon and i hope i helped you there

Dairy and alcohol can worsen eczema

Hi,
I have had eczema for most of my life, and I find thta dairy can make it worse. I have similar skin to yours from what you say, and my skin goes funny with dairy in my diet. Yeasty foods also do not help- cut down on bread etc, and also alcohol like wine and lager (if you drink those) Cranberry juice helps banish toxins from your skin, but have the low sugar/light version. My skin clears up within a few days if i follow those things...
Hope that helps!

Sensitive skin

Hi
My skin is much the same. I think as far as eating things to make your skin better is concerned, I would recommend evening primrose oil because its well known for aiding complaints such as dry skin. You can get this from any health food shop or chemist.
When skin is really dry, sore and sensitive I would recommend getting a big tub of Aqueous cream from your local chemist -its dead cheap! You can use this as a face wash, all over body wash and a moisturising cream. Just slap it on, its great stuff!
Another good product that I use is Bodyshop Vitamin E gentle facial wash, its perfume and soap free.
All the products by SIMPLE are also great for our type of skin.
Hope this helps

Hi

the less I put on my sensitive skin, the better. Leave it alone as much as poss and use non-fragranced products and good moisturisers.

Hi

Have you read the thread about putting oil on your face?! Might help...

Could be the change of seasons?

My skin is exactly the same twice a year, when the seasons change. I just slather moisturiser on and hope for the best - but don't go over the top with the other products as you risk making the problem worse as your skin will get confused with all the new things you're putting on it.
Hope that helps!
