Hi - I'm wondering if anyone has had a BA in Manchester Abbey Pines clinic. My surgeon is Mr Russo and I can't seem to find any info about him. My op is on 24th March (BF's birthday!) and i'm getting married in May.... I'm also very nervous about the recovery process so if anyone can let me know if they've had BA how it all went. Basically it would be nice to have a gossip with women who've gone through or are going through the same thing as me!!!

Hi Libby, I had BA with Dr Russo 2 years ago, I am very surprised with you being 5ft 2 that he is telling you to go for 380's, then again he knows best. I am 5ft 8 and after breast feeding I shrunk from a b-c cup to a 34a, he recommended I had 350's over which took me to a full C cup, saying that I measure 34D in M&S, but anyway they look so natural you wouldn't believe, so I am very surprised he has said for you to go bigger, I suppose it goes by weight and proportion.
Good luck with everything, you are in safe hands

Hi, I have had a BA @ Abbey Pines Clinic with Mr Russo as my surgeon. My operation was on 23/11/06 and I am over the moon with the results. Mr Russo is a very nice man and not to mention good lookin!! My general care from the beginning to the end have been fantastic and I would recommend Transform/Mr Russo to anyone. I first met Mr Russo at the Crosby clinic about 4-5 weeks before my operation and he made me feel really calm. I cant quite explain it but I felt 'safe'. On the morning of my op all I could think about was not being able to eat because I had to be at Abbey Pines for 12pm, it was a mixture of excitement and nervousness but I was quite calm to my surprise. Mr Russo came in to talk to me about my op and answer any questions, he took photos and put lines on my chest. I was then escorted down to the theatre which was really weird because I walked in and laid down on the operating table. Next thing I new I was being woken up by the nurse, all I can remember is thinking 'go away I want to sleep'!! I can not remmeber any pain at that point. About an hour later I was taken back to my room. I couldnt believe the pain I was in when I tried moving. I couldnt sit myself up or even feed myself with a spoon. My BA went under the muscle which gives you a more natural look but its surprising how much you actually use your upper body muscles. Mr Russo then came to see how I was doing. The staff were all very good and very patient as well, because if you wanted anything (moving or going the toilet) you had to press the button for help! They did keep coming in to check on me and topping up my painkillers. The morning after I saw Mr Russo again and then was discharged. The first few days are hell but believe me its worth all the pain and money its cost. I was very flat chested and had 340g implants in under the muscle so I think thats why I was in so much pain when I moved as the muscles had stretched so much. I had my operation on the Thursday and the following Thursday I had a check up at the Crosby clinic were they checked my stitches and to make sure everything was ok. On the Friday I returned to work as I did not have any holidays left and it was our works Christmas Do on the night. I felt great although I was sore but I think going back to work did me the world of good because it kept my mind off the pain and because I was moving a little it helped me not get stiff from just sitting there. I work on a computer all day so it wasnt as if I was doing any manual work. Its been nearly 4 months since I had my op and I feel fantastic, i am absolutely made up and so glad I have had it done. Hope this helps - you are in safe hands with Mr Russo and good luck for your op and your wedding, you will look great.

Hi, I am so so glad you posted this message, I am also having a BA with Dr Russo, on the 19th May at the Abbey Pines Clinic. I came on here looking for info on him, and couldn't find anything. When I went in for my consultation with him, I wanted the ground to swallow me up... he is so good looking! Then I had to stand there with no top on while he examined me... argh! It would have been easier if he weren't so handsome haha. I am not that nervous yet, as it is still 8wks away, but I am running a marathon the week before, so I am thinking about that instead to keep my mind off the operation and from getting myself all worked up. Thankyou for your post, I feel much better now.

Hiya Gemma - my op will be on Saturday and I'm so excited!! I'm also a bit nervous, after all it is an operation and like all operations there are risks involved. I'm off work all next week but if you want to get in touch send me an email to nikittybabe--@--yahoo--.--co-- .--uk without the --
I'll let you know how it went... I agree it was really embarassing standing semi-naked in front of Mr Russo (swooooon!!!!) but he's probably seen millions of boobs and is gay....lol
Hope to hear from you soon

I have made a note of your email address, I'll be in touch tomorrow! Just seen your post, I am so glad I was not the only one who swooned at Dr Russo! My BA is on 19th May, I am not nervous in the slightest at the moment, but I am trying not to think too much about it, I don't want to talk myself out of it, or worry myself to death etc. So just gonna get on with life and then probably be a blubbering mess the night before! Ive just noticed ur op is now less than 3 weeks away! How do u feel? I am nervous, but have been on the internet all day trying to get as much info as possible, so hopefullu nothing will freak me out! I just know I'll wake up and have a billion thoughts going round in my head... they're too big/small/hard/high/sore/numb/oh my god what the hell have I done etc etc, I feel that after all my research (on this site and others) that I will be much more relaxed now, and less likely to have a panic attack when something looks odd!

Hiya
I havent heard of mr russo but i went with Transform. I had mr singh do mine and i went from a 36B to a 36E ( asked for a DD) its funny as i went home after 5 hrs but surgeon said i could go after 2hrs...! then went shopping on way home next day i went out to get a support bra as i was a 36F then!!! so maybe wait till you have had it done before buying support bar as you dont want it to tight, i went to M&S they do post op bras. The next few days were uncomfy but you have painkillers i had mine over the muscle so pain not bad.
By tuesday i washed my hair, blow dried and straightned it so was fine and felt good did some ironing etc. Had my stitches out after 10 days every thing was fine i drove there 1hr there and back on the thursday i went to visit friends 2hrs away and back 2hrs and i was in pain so just when you think you are ok you start doing more then i was in pain for 2 days so be careful what you do. If you are going back to work after 2 weeks make sure you have someone at home to help with dinner after work as you will be tired.
There is lots of things that transform dont tell you about after the op but this web site is fantastic for information. Good luck. I see you are getting Married in may well the swelling etc take upto 6 weeks to feel normal so be carefully about wedding dress fittings as you might get upset you cant get them in the dress, but i am a size 8/10 and have gone up from a B to a E and i can get in most of my clothes just not fitted stuff so dont go buying fitted tops for the wedding out fit.
Good luck any more info let me know.
Cheriee x

Hi,
I'm glad I went on the internet to research this whole process, I am working today but have so far spent at least 5 hours on various internet sites, forums, chatrooms etc reading things people have written, and I have to say, it has been the best thing I could have done. I feel really well-informed now! The main worry for me was the speed of recovery. I was expecting a good week of not being able to do much at all, but I am back at work 10 days after my op and I don't want anyone at work knowing what I have had done, so I didn't want to be suffering for too long after the 10 days! It seems a lot of people have written that rest is very very important, and overdoing it just puts you back at square one... I have made a mental note to stay in bed for at least the first day, and then see how it goes after that! I have already made my list for the big day (even though it is still just over 10 weeks away!) I just felt I wanted to be prepared and not have to panic at the last minute! So far I have PJ's, magazines, make-up remover, mobile, zip-up top.... My boyfriend is taking the week off to help me out, something I hadn't even considered but now I know he's going to be at home with me it is a huge relief. I joked that he will have to take me to the toilet for the first 3 days and his face was an absolute picture! He is being very good about the whole thing, not making me nervous. I am getting really excited about it now! Countdown has begun.......

Hi,
I was just Googling Dr Russo and came across this! I am also booked into Abbey Pines for a BA in May and was trying to get some info on my surgeon. Have you had any luck? I am not as nervous as I was expecting, but then it is still a fair while away yet!
