hi ive not had lipo but a friend of mine has and she was swollen for a while, but once that went down i couldnt beleive the difference. it may not look much different but you only had it done last week, give yourself a bit more to heal then im sure you will notice, as for your surgeon if there is something you want to say and havent, be blunt if you have to as you have paid for a service, and if you are not happy with it they should sort it out for you.ive been told it does take 3mnths to see the final results but everybodys body heals in different times so it may take less or more who knows hope that this has helped in some way try not to panic you will look fab x

"Surgery is a con!" Posted by souldiva81 21 June at 23:25
I hate to sound patronising but seriously, for all the pain you put yourselves through and the money you've spent, would you not have been better hiring a personal trainer?
It sounds like nobody is that impressed with the service they've received. Liposuction is a complicated proceedure, you should be made to feel like you have the full support of the surgery you attend.
I've always suffered from weight issues and bad body image problems. I bought Paul McKenna's book "I can make you thin" it's not instant but since I've been reading it I an honestly say I feel great about myself - I'm not at my ideal weight but at least I'm not beating myself up over it anymore. I'm happy that every effort I make, be it a trip to the gym, bike ride or even walking to town, is a step closer to being thinner.
One thing to remember- no-one is as critical about your looks as you are yourself!

"Wow that is harsh my dear. ...." Posted by eveariel 14 August at 05:55
I am a big believer in plastic surgery ESPECIALLY if you already go to the gym 7 days a week, eat right and still not getting what you want. Lipo is great when you cant fight genetics. It is up to you to find A REALLY GOOD surgeon that you know that if it does not turn out the way you want he will go back in and do it right. There are many times that they have to do this in order to achieve the results you are looking for.
Lipo in MY OPIION is for people who already follow a good diet along with an exercise program. It is not intended for weight loss. I had my thighs done since well genetically they are large no matter what I did they would not go away. So I had them removed. It has been 6 weeks and I just started working out my legs blew up and yes it is depressing but well I guess they are not yet healed. It all takes time and everyone heals differently especially me and of course as you get older.
I live in BH's where you HAVE to be fit and beautiful and you know what I love it!!!!
THe junk food just does not do it for me...........
That my dear is being true to yourself.

"Liposuction garment" Posted by amber127 7 June at 13:06
It is true - and sometimes it can take up to six months! It is important to wear the compression garment in the first couple of months, find one that is comfortable.I bought my garments from Holistic Garments (www.holisticgarments.co.uk). Be patient! x

Poor you! I haven't had liposuction myself, but have a few friends who have - they did say it took a while for the swelling to go down, but could see qite a difference after 3-4 weeks so hopefully you'll be pleassed with the results in the end. Would you mind saying which surgeon you had? I can speak to my friends and ask if it was the same one. x

All this damage was caused by Tranf@@@@m.. when my wife went to seek help from Dr Mad@@ and he suggested she uses an ab-belt and do more swimming...We do not know what to do or where to turn. yours....... Hi as you know I had lipo to my innr/outer thighs and knees, it now 9 weeks since op and yes I can see a difference but have not dropped a jean size yet. I wore the stocking for 4 wks too. I feel my surgeon could have taken more and was not happy with him really as he was hard to talk to. Who did your lipo? and let me know how you progress. At 6 wks my buising and swelling had completely gone. Arnica really helped with the bruising.
Take care X

Hello, I was interested to read about your lipo experience. I'm hoping to have lipo in a few weeks with Dr Khan. My consultation was not with him though. I was wondering how you feel about your results now that a month has passed since your last entry. Also I can't afford to take more than a week off work am I going to need more time than this?
Hope to hear from you soon.

i know how you feel about the jean size, i thought that my clothes would at least be a bit loose but they're not really that loose. i'm just hoping that its just gonna take a bit more patience, i'm still in the early stages. i had 2.5 litres taken out, main areas being my legs like you. bruising has almost gone, still a bit tender at times. when you get to 3-4 months and youre still not that happy try and speak to your surgeon, most places will do the lipo again for free in the areas youre not too happy about, who did yours? i went to a private hospital near where i live in devon. x

Hi yes im going back to Transform London Mr Khan next Friday. Apparently they will do it again but I hate the thought of going all through it again what with work etc, and wearing that garment again and looking like mitchelin man. My surgeon is rush rush doesnt listen to you at all. His even been on tv and I have to use him again apparently. But I want what I paid for. I have recovered now totally but as you know the first 4 weeks are the worse. Hope you get the result you want. X

"Liposuction for the 2nd time" Posted by kaclcr 27 March at 17:56
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had liposuction twice in the same area. I had my legs, thighs, and hips done. I went for my 6 week check up (2 weeks agao) my doctor said he can do a better job if I wanted to go back, (my appointment is next thursday) I'm very nervous being that I was awake getting the procedure done, there were times it hurt. It still hurts a little. Is that normal? I would love any comments. Thanks kaclcr

"Liposuction 2" Posted by nissanh 28 March at 16:08
Hi I go back to my Transform clinic on Friday and I will more than lightly be having my inner/outer thighs & knees done again as I feel they could have taken more. After 6 weeks my legs were still tender in places but not really painful infact the muscle still aches now 9wks on. I'm surprised you were awake for your op where did you go to have yours done? Are you getting any compensation for having to go back again?

hi, i'm suprised that two people are worried about their lipo and they haven't reached the 3 month stage, i'm a bit worried to be honest cos i had mine done 4 weeks ago and my legs look the same as before pretty much, i'm still in the same size clothes, i'm worried that this is how they're gonna stay, i don't wanna e-mail my surgeon again cos i've sent him loads asking different questions, i hope i haven't wasted my money.

Hi ya,
4 weeks is still early to see a difference by 6-8 weeks you will see a difference, I can now and my jeans are looser in my thigh area. I'm at 10wks now. I saw surgeon friday and he wants to see me in 6 months before deciding to take more as he says I still have swelling although I can't see it. He said your muscles are tender and swollen and it takes approx 1yr for the body to totally heal. But getting back to you the difference at 4wks to 6wks is very noticeable wait and see. x

"In the same boat" Posted by ptgrammy 6 September at 21:28
I am 4 weeks out from lipo on my tummy and waist. I wore my "garment" for 2 weeks. I saw my doctor this week and showed her what I was disappointed with and asked her if it was too soon or is this as good as it will be. She told me in two more weeks it will be as good as it gets. I was surprised because she originally told me it could be as long as 3-6 months. My belly looks like a deflated balloon and my waist is not reduced. She said I would need a mini tummy tuck for the "hangy down" stuff and more lipo on my waist. I can "deal" with my tummy because it is better than it was but my waist needs help. I am hoping she will do the waist again for free but I think the best she will do is at cost. I am going to wait two more weeks and see if there are any improvements.
